Here is your solution, grab AVIdemux from here
https://portableapps.com/apps/music_vid ... x-portable
Load your files and remux them to .ts files
It took less then a sec to remux 177, No problemo in VS *** I just test that remux to mp4 also run fast and OK for VS.
****Google to learn how to batch remux all your files (test on duplicates, not on originals from your SD card)

Thanks - but I'm thinking it's a glitch in the software that corel need to know about fix
I have near identical video cameras
Sony FDR AX53
Panasonic HC VX1
Both use identical SD Cards
When I import files from my SD Card from my Sony Camera they import fine. The Panasonic Files there is always one file that shows up that error.
All the files play perfectly in VLC player.

Re: Problem Importing video file into 2021 Ultimate
Per my earlier post, this really looks like a case of 'tweaked' format in the panasonic camera. Odd, because I use a Pana full HD HC-V770M set to record to SD card in mp4 (only 2 choices - mp4/iframe or avchd) and I've never had a file format issue with files from this camera imported to CVS in any version since 2016.
I have noted however, that if I pan this camera too fast with the settings I have, I get audio dings and a screen message. So panning too fast is likely to give clip recording errors.
Suggestions:
1. review your camera recording settings: try to choose one that is suitable for you, not necessarily the one the camera defaults to. That may mean adjusting it as a result of the next items.
2. you've stated that some clips give an error and others don't. Capture the properties for a sample of each one and post here for critique by the users expert in format analysis.
3. compare the properties of the working and error clips with the camera specifications/settings options in the camera guide - see if there is anything that may explain why you get an error with one clip and not others.
4. review your video recording technique.

Re: Problem Importing video file into 2021 Ultimate
I can confirm what @Candive wrote. The files do not play in VS2021, but no problem in Pinnacle Studio 24/23 or my other editors.
MediaInfo says it's a Bluray video. Curious as to what camera was used to create it.

Rob
How did you transfer the video to the computer, I assume copy and paste direct from the SD card as the file extension is MTS
Panasonic camcorders come with their own software a HD Writer which can transfer footage from the camera to the PC
Although I do have a Panasonic 900 series camera I never received the HD Writer
If you do have this software, I would advice that you install and try using that to import the footage.
I would not have thought Panasonic would go to the extent of providing this software if they did not think it necessary.
But then I have not had problems importing my MTS video files, maybe my camcorder is a little different.
Once imported to the pc they appear to use m2ts as the files extension and not MTS, just maybe that will make a difference?
I found a YouTube video showing the HD Writer process.

I have HD Writer somewhere but I don't see why it will help, VS when import from SD also makes m2ts.
Remux is the way to go. It is much quicker than import.

Re: Problem Importing video file into 2021 Ultimate
Adi,
I think you've missed the point - it's not about how fast the file imports but why there are errors flagged in a specific case, when there is a vendor supplied program for the task.
Rob should try importing the problem file(s) using the vendor supplied software (a 2 stage process: read and save with the HD writer item, then import the result to VS) - just to check that any special format 'tweaks' are managed.

Re: Problem Importing video file into 2021 Ultimate
Hi Lata
Sorry for the lack of response.
I've never used the software with the Panasonic Camera never needed to.
I use a USB Card Reader to transfer the files, they all play fine in VLC Player
I used the camera the other day on a shoot and tried my other SD Card from my Sony AX53 which is the same SD Card, Corel still didn't accept at least two files.
Its definitely a glitch in the software that corel should be known about!

Re: Problem Importing video file into 2021 Ultimate
I do not think it has anything to do with an individual SD card, they are just storage devices, it’s the file on that card that is the problem.
The HD Writer is provided by Panasonic with some camcorder types, if you have been provided with that software then maybe using will sort the problem.
Are you having problems with every video recorded with the Panasonic or is it just a couple that are giving problems.
If this only affects a few recordings then I can only assume they to be corrupt files, it does happen.
Many years ago I did manage to corrupt my recording but only when the camera was switched off during recording.
Sharing SD Cards with the Sony camera is probably not a good idea as each camera creates their own filing system on the card, having two folder structures could cause a conflict
I would suggest you use another SD Card and allow the Panasonic to format the card, then see how recordings go.
As you seem to think it is Corel Video Studio that is the problem then whatever we suggest is gonna be ignored, just a waste of time as I cannot fix the program.
We do not work for Corel so if you feel they should know then you will have to contact Corel Support.

If you need to recode try: https://videotovideo.org/download/
It is free old, but ahead of its time. Powerful and easy to use.
Better than lots of newer transcoders and does more than transcode.
Choices are huge.
