pspx7.4_special_offer.exe fatal error on install

Post by pearlware »

I was using X2 for a while and a box kept popping up asking me to buy newer versions. I eventually did, x7.4.
My disk drive died last week and i am trying to re-install it.
2 problems. The installer doesn't do much and then gives a message of 'Fatal error during installation' and second I can not find any email as receipt of my buying the software.
The only thing I know is that the date time on the exe is 03/04/2018 18:53:46.
Could you suggest anything that would be in the email body that could help me locate it, or tell me how to get it installed from the exe.

Hi pearlware and welcome to the forum.

I would suggest logging into your account at Corel.com and checking under registered products for proof of purchase.

Hi Kathy
I think I got the original message wrong. I think x7 special offer might have been free because I was using X2, and that then nagged me into buying an update to x7.
My problem is that I can find no record of doing it. I keep all my passwords, id's, links and important data in one place and I have no record of corel, psp, paintshop or x7.
I have managed to get x7 working by using the original x2 disk and installing that first.
I don't see much point in going through my card statements because that wouldn't give me anything useful to show I bought it.
Sorry to have bothered you.
