If it becomes necessary to remove/reinstall VS2021 be careful about using the VS2021 Cleanup Tool, if it is offered to you. if you have previous versions of VS installed, using the 2021 Cleanup Tool will remove all Boris components from the previous versions, in my case VSX10, VS2018 & VS2020, that then takes a long time reinstating BCC and Graffiti.
VS2020 was not provided a Cleanup Tool, now it looks like VS2021 won't have one either, unless Corel pull there finger out and fix the problem
Also if you do have to reinstall VS2021 with previous versions installed, the reinstallation will remove existing ProDAD filters from the previous versions and replace them with the VS2021 versions

Re: Uninstalling VS2021 - Warning
Thanks Robert, I decided to add to your Topic
2021 Trial
Some additional information regarding the 2021 Trial version
Recently I installed the Trial version of 2021 in addition to my programs 2020 and 2019 already installed.
Uninstalling the Trial by using the web installer aka stub removed the Corel ViderStudio Contents folder corrupting the 2020 and 2019 programs which showed a re-link request on many of the library samples / templates etc.. I assume uninstalling using Program & Features would do the same.
Attempts to correct the issue were difficult, relinking was possible but a library reset would undo all efforts to fix this, 2019 being much more troublesome.
Ensuring a full fix I decided re-installing 2019 and 2020 was the better option.
Of course the issue could be caused by my own environment as I am the only one to experience this problem.
I have replicated this problem by again installing / uninstalling the Trial, in fact on my third and final attempt to find a fix for the corrupt 2020 / 2019 programs
If you do not have 2020 or 2019 installed then running the trial 2021 should not be a problem, otherwise take care.
Post Updated
I have now uninstalled the trial version using Program and Features with no problems, that is the Corel VideoStudio Contents folder was not removed and 2019 / 2020 remained in tact.
Confusing to say the least, either it is a problem with the stub or my environment acting up, Inconclusive.

Re: Uninstalling VS2021 - Warning
Do you know what happens to legacy VS installations, e.g. VS2018, X10, X9, etc., when one installs the VS2021 trial version and it expires? Specifically, does the trial version expiring result in loss of functionality in the VS legacy versions?lata wrote: Recently I installed the Trial version of 2021 in addition to my programs 2020 and 2019 already installed.

If you wish to own VideoStudio 2021 then now is a good a time as any given that you will be given a 30 day money back guarantee.
On the good side I have been using the Full version and the Trial and have not had a crash, I am not saying you will not as everyone uses different video files and editing techniques.

Re: Uninstalling VS2021 - Warning
Specifically, easy answer NO
First the problem I had appears to be with my system, unless someone else experiences the same issues.
As far as I know there is no loss of functionality with existing programs when using the Trial or removing the Trial.
Some problems do exist where uninstalling the full version, or indeed uninstalling 2020 may impact on some features of the older programs, Nothing that cannot be remedied one way or another.
But the problem of lets say Version Collision is not new to 2021, this tends to affect the ProDad and Boris plugins, the latter no longer provided with 2021. The general function of the program being unaffected.
The Trial 2021 has its limitations, Prodad Stuff is not provided so should not impact on earlier versions.
It is difficult to explain just what happens when each user seems to experience different, a long drawn out process to install the trial, uninstall to check other programs, just to repeat the process again.
I'm about to install the trial again, for the last time, mind you for me the Trial period will expire soon.
Yes I will take note of my existing programs from X10 onwards whilst running the Trial.

I have Installed the Trial version and unfortunately did affect the existing Video Studio programs by removing Boris Graffiti, with 2018 loosing BCC Title Studio.
I do not understand this as the Trial does not include those plugins, so why would installing the trial affect these
Again I cannot confirm this is a Video Studio install issue or my computer environment, so far It is just what I am experiencing.
At the moment i have the trial installed but will uninstall, then update this post

Thanks for the warning. Unfortunately with each new version of VS, Corel is making it more and more tricky for those who want to maintain use of their prior versions of VS.lata wrote: I have Installed the Trial version and unfortunately did affect the existing Video Studio programs by removing Boris Graffiti, with 2018 loosing BCC Title Studio.

I have re-installed the full version of 2021 with no further issues that I can see.
Boris Graffiti, BCC TitleStudio are no longer provided by Video Studio2021, but on a good note the new ProDad filters provided by 2021 are also available to use with the earlier 2019 and 2020 versions,
Vitascene appears to have been updated from version 2 to version 4, again seems to be available for earlier versions, many of the plugins being for common use.
By the way the Route and Script plugins are no longer provided by installing Video Studio but available as a free download via the Welcome screen, at least users can choose if they need to install those.
And again throughout all these installations and program tests / tweaks I have not had one crash.
