Smart Package

I'm using Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2019. My friend who has version 2021 has recently made a video and has asked me to check it. She has used the smart package feature and sent her project to me as smart package zip file. The problem is my Corel Video crashes when I open her Smart Packages VSP file, the rest of the files needed for the project are also in the folder with the VSP file.

If I first open my 2019 VideoStudio and then open new project, navigate to the VSP sent by my friend, nothing imports I'm just left with a brand new project.

Any ideas?

I'm probably answering my own question here, I'm wondering if the problem is the following....

You can open a smart package vsp file made on a older version of Corel VideoStudio and run that on a newer version of Corel VisdeoStudio eg old 2019 vsp works on 2021 Corel VideoStudio

You Cannot open a smart package vsp file made on a new version of Corel Videostudio and expect to run it on a older version of CorelStudio eg 2021 vsp doesn't work on 2019 Corel VideoStudio

Yes, you have answered your own questions, From VS2020, you can no longer save as a previous version.

Your easiest option may be to do a Remote Desktop Assistance, Corel tend to use a program called Team Viewer, free version of course
Then you can access your friends PC to check the project.

I thought as much. And yes I did consider remote desktop but decided to upgrade. I was reluctant to do that as I'm expecting to have to reset all my favorites in the tools section with the new install, learn a different layout and worried some of my older files/templates may not work. Just installed 2021 Ultimate so here goes.
