mpg properties are not correct

I recorded three hours of video using a ATI AIW 9600XT with the default 8000/sec VBR setting.
It shows up in MF3 as 3200/sec. after trimming the commercials I had 10 separate mpgs using VideoStudio 8. I started MF3 and each of the mpgs is a different bit rate.
I have not run into this problem before, however I just reinstalled the OS and all the software on a new system.
Any ideas?
