How to Buttonize a Round PNG image?
Sometimes PSP can just baffle me. I have a round PNG image that I want to buttonize. Simple right? Nope. If I apply all the other 3D effects to the round png, the effect takes effect on the actual round image. But when apply the Buttonize effect, it applies to the transparent square parameter of PNG and not to the round image itself. Why? Why do all the other effects work right, but the one I want does not? How do I fix this?

Try selecting the object first and then apply buttonize.

Re: How to Buttonize a Round PNG image?
Thanks, Katy, but I still get the same problem. The buttonize effect applies to the transparent background and not the image itself, while all the other 3D effects apply to the image, not the background (which indicates that the image is selected).

If you have a vector layer, it seems you need to convert the vector layer to a raster layer for this to work.

Paintshop Pro 2021 Help has this to say about the Buttonize option:
"...You can use the Buttonize effect to simulate square or rectangular buttons created from any selection, layer, or flattened image..."
"...You can use the Buttonize effect to simulate square or rectangular buttons created from any selection, layer, or flattened image..."

Hmmm... Not sure how to tell if it is a vector or a raster. This is a jpg image that I cut out round and saved it as a PNG with a transparent background.

That is a Raster. JPG and PNG are raster formats.

Re: How to Buttonize a Round PNG image?
I suggest you use Inner Bevel, if you want a round button. It is what I've always use when making buttons etc..jungleexplorer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:11 pm Thanks, Katy, but I still get the same problem. Buttonise seems to be for rectangle and square shapes, rather than round shapes.
