inserting without screwing up timeline?

Post by wolfpackfrenzy »

Im having a problem insterting a new video into the timeline because it is screwing up what i've already created.

I have a video with titles and music in place. When i go to add a new clip to the begining of the timeline (or in the middle), only the video track changes to insert the new clip. This causes the titles and music that was in synced with key points in movie to no longer be have the correct positioning.

How do i insert a new clip without it screwing up the timing of the stuff that comes after?

Im using VS8

I would upgrade to Videostudio 9, it adds support for ripple editing, which prevents exactly the problem you describe.

At first glance, I think the computer hardware requirements are pretty similar between 8 and 9.

So is it safe to assume:
if 8 works fine on my machine, that 9 will as well?

Or does 9 need more horsepower?

VS8 doesn't have ripple editing- you will need to upgrade to 9. The computer requirements are the same though - if you can run 8, you'll be OK.
