PSP Cache loading

When I try to use the change to target I get "loading cache" and then as it gets to 98% psp shuts down.
Is there a way to clear the cache? Am I supposed to do that?

This is driving me nuts

File - Preferences - Reset Preferences. Once there check the appropriate box(es).

If that doesn't solve your issue you may need to do a reset to default.
