The corel video templates I purchased from a site called Lovepik give a warning as below when opening. What would be the reason?

Welcome to the forum, Sarah.
If these were DVD menu templates, then unless they had been made originally in Corel's Photo Impact, VS would not be able to recognize them. As the error message said in the earlier message above, the templates would not have the correct format. Where did you purchase these templates?

Re: Corel Video Studio Ultimate 2020 Video video templates not opening issue
OK. As far as I can see, what Lovepik calls templates are done with standard formats such as .png. To create a template which can be used in VideoStudio, the template has to have the .ufo format, which is only done in Corel PhotoImpact. Unfortunately, PhotoImpact has not been updated for quite a few years and in effect no longer exists.
If you can check any of your Lovepik templates in File Explorer to see what extension they have, then if they don't have .ufo, Video Studio will not recognize them as templates, though with standard formats like png or jpg, you should at least be able to insert them as images in the VS timeline, though they can only be used as images there, and not templates.
