Hi there
A layer question if I may. Say I have an image with 10 layers. I create a new layer such as soft light or vibrancy. How can I configure the layer properties so that the adjustment only applies to layers I select?
For example, a vibrancy layer is the top layer, layer 1. I would like this to apply to layers 2 - 9. I do not want layer 10 to be affected by the modification. Is there a kind of "blocking" layer I can place between layers 9 and 10 to stop higher level adjustments at that layer?
Thanks in advance and apologies if it's a simple answer.

Re: Layer help
There is no blocking layer. What you would normally do is group the adjustment layer with the layers you want it to apply to. Or, use the mask built into the adjustment layer to target specific areas only.
An example of using the mask to target only the visible areas of the other layers, hide layer 10, then using the magic wand tool set to "all opaque" and "all layers" turned on. And click on an opaque area of the layers it should then select all of the opaque areas. Invert the selection, and fill with black on the mask layer inside this selection. Reveal layer 10 and it shouldn't touch the visible areas of layer 10.

Re: Layer help
Yes, grouping or adjustment layer masking is the only ways I'm aware of too. However, in my experience, grouping just adjustment layers is not possible in PSP. There must also be a regular base layer in the group, which sucks to be honest. This, plus the fact that there is no Pass Through blend mode support in PSP.
Regarding masking adjustment layers, what I usually do is to first invert their mask to black, then paint in with a white brush only the areas to be affected by the adjustment.
