I have a problem where paintshop shows $ instead of £.

Anyone know how to change this?

When you go into Preferences -> Switch Language, which language shows?

Have you got the right keyboard selected in Windows? For the pound symbol £ to be Shift 3, English UK and UK keyboard work. If US keyboard is selected, Shift 3 is a "hash" character.
The keyboard/language setting is usually in the Windows task bar near the date.

It sounds like maybe you didn't download the additional language pack when you installed.

Do you know if one can download or install languages without having to uninstall and reinstall PSP?
Thanks

As far as I can tell you would have to add the additional language during installation only. If you want to be certain you could contact Corel directly.

Only a few days ago I moved PSP 2020 from a laptop and reinstalled on a new, more powerful desktop. I don't recall any English language variant being offered other than 'US' and that is all that shows up under PSP's "Preferences/Switch Language".
Even so, I can use the £ (GBP) symbol from the Shift 3 position on my UK keyboard.

It is not a language problem. I have PSP English (US) and French installed and my PSP shows prices in euros (€). When I switch to English US, the prices stay in euros.
I think it is related to the PC OS. If your computer or your installed Windows is coming from US, it may display US currency.
I suggest you contact Corel's support.

Just for information:
If you want to install other languages you must start the Windows uninstall of Paintshop Pro. The program "prepares to uninstall" until you get a dialogue to choose between uninstall, repair installation, and change installation. Change installation to add languages and anything else not initially installed.
Edit to add: As far as I can tell after a quick check, changing the installation by adding languages didn't touch/remove any customizations or change any preferences. Quite a feat for Corel :)
