A comparison of features between VS2019, VS2020 and VS2021 is aval @ https://www.videostudiopro.com/static/v ... rix-en.pdf, e.g. there are some new versions of the proDAD plug-ins. However, the key question is whether VS2021 is more stable or does it continue to silently crash at the drop of a hat, and freeze when scrubbing?

Wow, must be nice...I didn't receive any emails and when I asked via chat I was told, there was no upgrade option and I'd have to pay 99.00 US. I bought VSU 2020 and 3D Titler separately, since I didn't know it was already included in VSU 2020, and of course no one from Corel would mention that of course.

In my experience, the customer service reps for this company (at least the ones I interacted with) are the some of most incompetent, clueless (about their own products) people I've ever had the displeasure to deal with- literally had to figure out every technical issue myself.

Here's some advice people- get Davinci Resolve- the FREE version and see what you've been missing.

I pulled the trigger and ordered. I will be sharing my experience here. I hope this will be better compared to vs2020.

After one day playing around my initial findings:

- I had no sudden crushes yet.
- The audio glitches in MP4 files still remains
- The interface is way faster compared to VS2020
- AR stickers .....!?!?!? Mehhh. Not necessary toy...
- Still HW acceleration in NVIDIA creates muddy renders. I will use Intel.
- I realized a weird attitude with the usage of scape bar. I generally use space bar to play the project preview. Strangely the preview pane goes to clip mode instead of project. So I need to press twice the space bar. Does anybody has the same attitude?


I will keep using it.

Can you create a new project using 2021, Smart Package and share with us, start a new topic for this issue.

Does not support AMD A10, does not work for me.

No problems here, space bar starts and stops play in either clip or project playback

Have the same issue. There is many problems with space bar in VS2021. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Don't know why.

There is a slight delay if I use the spacebar to play. It seems that the "play" button takes a moment to not be grayed out. It's a minor inconvenience, since if I blink, it's ready to go.

Nick, further tests do indicate i have to press the space bar twice to continue playing.
Not something i normally use, but play button shows the same

If i pause play over a transition then i need two presses.
Playback before the transition only one needed, after the transition two presses needed
Random and unpredictable

Here's some advice for people thinking of getting Resolve for free. You better have a beast computer and be prepared to spend a lot of time learning the software. And I mean a LOT. Yes, it's free, so try it. You can always uninstall it. Oh, and I hope your computer monitor is calibrated....
How do I know? I have Resolve 17 Studio. Yes the paid version and I also have the Speed Editor for the Cut panel. Are there issues with it? Go take a look in the user forum. Ever wonder why it takes so long to load while looking for Control Panels that aren't even there in spite of check marking that they are not there in preferences? Ever try to easily re-assign all your storage locations? The list is long. And while VS has it's issues, it doesn't take long to get up and running and finishing a video.

For those that would use VS, 99.9% would have no need for the complexity of Resolve nor care to spend the time in trying to figure it out, even though it's free.

An I woke up. It was a nice dream. The program crashed with no file recovery.

Curious as to what you were doing when it crashed? It's been fairly stable for me just bouncing around it trying different things.

Nick, The first thing a user do upon installing (any) VS is to set the auto saving to 2 min.
