I want to buy it, but I'll wait until it's on offer for around £30. I have next to nothing to edit, due to the current lockdown.

A comparison of features between VS2019, VS2020 and VS2021 is aval @ https://www.videostudiopro.com/static/v ... rix-en.pdf, e.g. there are some new versions of the proDAD plug-ins. However, the key question is whether VS2021 is more stable or does it continue to silently crash at the drop of a hat, and freeze when scrubbing?

I don't want to be a downer but.....
That feature list-comparison (https://www.videostudiopro.com/static/v ... rix-en.pdf) say 'nVidia CUDA' works and has been working for the last 2 versions, this users group says it never worked and probably never will. How can we trust it to be any amount of accurate?

Edited for typing errors

Get the trial version and conduct your own tests, or buy the software, test it, and then exercise the 30-day moneyback guarantee if you wish.

I am such a "LOW VOLUME" user/producer, that I would not even realize the difference between the new feature and the new bug, from X10 to 2020 to 2021. I waited for VSP2020U + SP4 before I paid something like $19 + $9 for a physical disc. I even bought extra licenses to give to friends because of the low price. I will be monitoring this users group, and will probably be a VSP2021 BUYER at SP3, while waiting on SP5 or SP6(?) for VSP2020 to become available.

This is a great group of users and I have always found my VSP problems >---to---> solutions here!

Yes the download for the program should be via the Web Installer and would allow installation of the trial.

If you visit the Corel site you will NOT be able to purchase the program or download the trial.
At present the latest current version of Video Studio is 2020 and that will remain until the official release date, we are given to believe in approx. 12 days from today.

At that time we will create a new topic for Wishlist for 2021, although I do not see any urgency in doing that earlier than release.
I get it now. I saw the offer when I started 2020 up, didn't go to the website.
lata wrote: Thu Feb 11, 2021 4:12 pm Cyberherbalist, out of interest can you tell us the version you are using
Go to Help – About
The version is 24.0.1.260 (64-bit Ultimate)
lata wrote: Thu Feb 11, 2021 4:12 pm Oh, when you installed the program did it also install a Service Pack
I don't think so. The reason I'm unsure is that I didn't watch the install, but usually when there's a service pack of any application, they ask for permission to install that. I didn't see this.

One odd thing that happened during the install of NewBlueTitler was that my Acronis backup software's ransomware detector triggered several times! So weird. I just told it to ignore the issue. And then, for some stupid reason Acronis decided to start up during the install, and it locked my machine so bad it needed a hard reset to unfreeze everything. I'm not blaming Video Studio on this, by the way. Acronis is backup software, and I had reason to think it was a pile of crap before all this and now I'm certain. For starters, I never knew it had a ransomware detector. Maybe I should have read the stinking manual, lol.

This happened overnight, and I figured Acronis had screwed up the Video Studio installation, so I was prepared to clean up and re-install this morning, but surprisingly Video Studio fired right up when I tried it, and I've built several short videos and rendered them without a hitch. So, all is well, apparently.

Another interesting thing is that I still have VS 2020 on this machine, and it still seems to run OK, as well, even with another version of the product installed. Seems to, anyway.

You may be waiting in vain for SP5 as Corel normally moves on from developing SPs for old versions of VS once a new version has been released. The developers are probably now working full-time on VS2021 SP1 and VS2020 is in their rearview mirror.

Does VS2021 allow you to save a VSP in a previous format, e.g. VS2018, VS2019, etc.?

No, it doesn't. It can save only in the 2021 format. And though VS2020 can open VS2021 projects, it doesn't understand them and no content is shown once it is loaded.

If you are a Boris User, consider carefully about upgrading, as BCC Title Studio is no longer included in VS2021

you need to be more specific, otherwise someone has to read through the entire wishlist, then compare with 2021

:-) I wasn't expecting anyone to do that, I just thought if someone had suggested something they might have bought the product and noted that their request was accommodated. To be more specific however, I did submit something that you forwarded on to Corel. It was related to the better management of masks. You posted a reply Sat Jun 20, 2020 10:56 pm. I am wondering if there are any improvements in relation to managing masks in 2021.
Thanks.

sorry, no change to that layout, it does seem to be a waste of space.

do you create your own masks?
