Can't run animated GIF into VS Ultimate 2020

Hi!
I try the chat support and they tell me to add as a video for my animated gif but it will not import it. I try to insert as a "Digital Media"...the gif is still recognized as "Photo". Help!

No problem here with VS 2020.

Vs2020 plays animated .gif without issue, could be you missing the necessary codecs

Can you play GIF files in any other program, Win 10 does not include a built-in GIF viewer.

QT is needed for animated gif

You would only need the QT Codec, read the following post for help in installing the codec only

I used to have absolutely no problem playing animated GIF in VS Ultimate X10 and 2020. Last month, I've had a major problem with my computer and it had to be formatted. I reinstalled VS X10 and 2020, but animated GIF are no longer playing. I've followed instruction given by RobertOZ for the codec only installation, but the problem remains the same.

Well I have just assembled a completely new desktop (specs in profile) to date, have installed VS2021, just imported some GIF files and they play correctly, I have not purposely installed QT, But it is showing as being installed, can only be from installation of MS3D

Would there be another way to solve the problem as to allow VS 2020 to play GIFs as they are, without to have to convert them or else ?
