Resize a Static Mask Frame
I have a still image in the overlay track, double clicked it and selected a mask frame which covers too much of the image. Is there any way to enlarge the mask frame so that more of the image (ellipse) shows.VS 2020 Ultimate.

Re: Resize a Static Mask Frame
Kenneth, the mask is fit to the image so changing the size on the timeline will also affect the mask
The mask does take most of the image so increasing the size of the mask may loose some of the mask border outside the image frame.
There are several oval masks, have you tried all.
We can create or modify the mask using an image editor, but again the mask will encroach on the edges of the image. Also possible to do using Video Studio by taking screen shots.
Masks are applied by the program taking details / effect from a Black and White image
For 2020 those images are BMP here:-
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2020\EditingStyle\Image
Again there are several oval shapes that may be suitable.
First you should make a copy of the mask images to modify,
do not work on the actual programs copy.
Once you have modified the B/K image, simply Add to the Mask Frames by selecting the + Import Mask option.
As the masks do fill the image frame, have you considered re-sizing the Image to fit the mask size.
Can you provide the image you are working on , or a screen shot with the mask applied.

Re: Resize a Static Mask Frame
Thanks for the reply Trevor.I do not want to show 100% of the image for privacy etc reasons. So what I did was to crop out and remove some of the image on the right hand side. This made the image more of a square shape. This was about a 1/3rd of the image removed. It fits better but if you look at the bottom of image you can only just see part of the text which should read 6 Feb 2021.The original image had a face and fingers holding the book .Below is a screen shot of the result

Re: Resize a Static Mask Frame
It does look as the mask is using most of the image, being elliptical does cut the corners
Would one of the rectangular mask do the job?
You could try creating your own mask, although the one provided does cover most of the image.
There is the option to use the Mask Creator, you can draw your own oval mask directly on the image allowing you to fill more of the image, feather the edges.
Mask Creator I think is the better option
