Problem reinstalling PSP2018

My husband has been using PSP2018 for some time now. Last night the text toolbar disappeared from his workspace, and after looking for it, he decided to uninstall and reinstall the program.

Using the DVD, he tried to install it, but the program will not install. We keep getting the message that it did not finish and to run it again at a future time to finish with this code :
2146697211

This program has been running fine until now.

Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1
64 bit

How do we make the program reinstall?

You can try running the PSP Cleanup tool found here https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=52337 and then reinstalling.

Thank you for the link to the removal tool. I don't think it worked for us, though. I ran it on my husband's computer and then started the installation again. His user name was already in the window where it asks for that and the serial number. I entered the serial number, and started the installation again. It took about 10 minutes to perform the configuration of visual C++. I am currently waiting for it to finish configuring Microsoft .NET Framework 4.

I guess my husband and I were too impatient. Ten minutes after my last post, the program finally showed 42% on the progress bar and PSP is now installed.
