Re: Path Library Customisation VS 2020
No easy way anymore as RotoPen has been removed. Now I would have place the object on an overlay track and use Customized Motion.

Re: Path Library Customisation VS 2020
There are 2 ways to do this:
1. Using advanced motion
background water image in the TL, boat clip in the OL track: example select the boat, click on options, then advanced motion. When the AM panel opens, insert key frames (diamond-shaped icons) at any point along the projected timeline (select the point, click on the add keyframe icon) and at any location on the background image. When played, the boat image will track to the next keyframe in sequence from where it starts, in a straight line. The software interpolates a position between the 2 points.
To size the boat image, note the sizing handles around the boat clip shown when selected - use those to reduce or enlarge the image.
play it
2. using the library Path options
background and boat image in tracks as before
select the library path icon (wavy line right at the bottom of the list in the tool bar), choose the path you want then click and drag that path icon onto the boat clip. you may have to size the boat image at the start and end of the path as the software seems to default to specific sizes.
play it.

Not called Script Ken, different filter completely, on the Win 7 desktop, I have Rotopen installed, but had to manually install it as it did not install with Bonus Features, although it did install on the Win 10 laptop, but interestingly, Script does not show on the laptop

Re: Path Library Customisation VS 2020
I have RotoPen installed with 2020
I have not copied any files from version to version
Rotopen installation file is here within the download files for 2020
\64bit\BonusFeature\PlugIns_X64
as
RotoPen_x64.exe
Scripts are a separate plugin and also installed to 2020

Re: Path Library Customisation VS 2020
Without a little more info, maybe a screen shot of the preview screen showing the boat and background it is difficult to replicate just what you are expecting.
Is the background a video or a still image of the sea, I assume a video of a wavy sea, so do you want the boat to rock and roll
I have attached a Smart Package that should open using 2020
A simple Customise Motion is applied to a boat image, how complex do you need the effect to be.

Re: Path Library Customisation VS 2020
Below is my workflow for creating a wave path for a ship. This probably is not the best way to do it but it is what I have come up with.I did not get involved with all the parameters below the preview screen or not sure with the square red node does.
IN VIDEO STUDIO 2020 ULTIMATE
TO CREATE A WAVE PATH FOR A SHIP
1 Open video track with clip for background
2 Drag an image of a ship to the overlay track
3 Select the overlay track
4 Select the Motion Paths icon
5 Choose Basic
6 Drag 1st default path P01 onto overlay track, star shows.
7 To adjust path :- right click overlay > motion >customise motion
8 In the Customize Motion preview screen, position and resize the ship.
9 Drag the green node on the ship in a straight line until you reach where you want a key frame. A new node will show.
10 If you want grid lines, right click on the line and select grid lines. This will help gauge distances accurately .
11 Add a new key frame each time you complete the section by
12 moving the white triangle to the exact point on the timeline and clicking on the black + icon. - icon will delete.
13 Repeat a section as many, of any length as you need.
14 The new nodes on the straight line will indicate the points that let you anchor the ends of each curve. When the cursor changes to a pointed hand near the straight line, you can push it to make a wave and pull the line to make a dip, alternating in between each pair of key frames. You can make shallow or deep waves depending how far you move the curve from the top and bottom of the line and how long the curve is. 15 To save the path. Click Save to Path Library > in Save to Path Library Box > enter Path Name. Under Options I choose path with all attributes, > Save to Basic. Named path shows in Library.
