My scrubber freezes for about 10 seconds (everything freezes) then it will move but as soon as I run scrubber again passed video track it will freeze again.
My experience on systems with discrete GPUs is as you describe. Hence it would appear that Corel has incorporated a number of half-baked transitions into VS2021, which their QA should have caught.

I did not have a problem playing that project
Yes playing the timeline is fine, however, the issue is trying to move the scrubber along the timeline, i.e. grab the scrubber and move it from start to the end w/o VS freezing.
Thankyou for reply..and video clip...just recap..Yes I am able to play timeline first off without freezing to end..but when i grab scrubber to move back at beginning right away, scrubber will freeze for 10 seconds (studio freezes) before playing again.. .with these transitions only.. But when reset library first.. freezing issues disappear!
once again thankyou for your feed back. cheers.
something to watch regarding settings and resetting library etc. for freezing/crashing.
I just wanted to mention that I noticed this resetting of library only seemed to work in "VS 2021" to fix freezing issues with transitions as in prior posts I submitted explaining the problems I encounter on my system. I run "2020 VS" on another computer which I was editing on and resetting LIBRARY DID NOT help, VS froze! same issues, kind of strange.( ps.. Updated all computers to windows 11.. shows no difference from windows 10)
ALSO... I inserted a jpeg into the FLIP album transition customizing option on "2020 VS" computer I was able to insert a jpeg and continued editing.
On 2021 VS computer, tried inserting a jpeg on FLIP album and when I did, VS 2021 just crashed. shutting VS down. Tried several times trying different options..with no solution, just shutting. Some conflict between both versions? does not make sense! Tried smart package from 2020 to 2021 version and transition wouldn't work. Project played through but transition didn't execute.
To top it off, I downloaded VS 2021 on a new powerful laptop and performed the same transition effect ( flip album) and added a customized jpeg insert in the flip effect. As soon as I did, the programed crashed..Shut VS down.
So now I have 2 powerful computers with totally different components.( amd processor and an intel processor ). Both crashed on me when introducing Jpeg into FLIP ALBUM. Now what this is stating to me.. 2021 VS cant perform this action. Its there to use but cant use..I am sure others are having this issue, as I have used few new computers to perform tests. ( this transition, FLIP album is commonly favored in our projects.)
I am one to find a fix and usually get a solution to get me by... but this one got me. It sounds like another glitch in VS. I wonder what 2022 will bring. or not .. lol
Anyone with any ideas? I was researching other posts with no results and researching online as well. you tube etc.. I value everyone's input with appreciation. thankyou to all.
Hello all. I just noticed VIDEO STUDIO 2022 was released. As posts I have made in past regarding freezing etc..I decided to try the trial 30 day download first.
I have noticed one positive difference with an issue regarding the (FLIP ALBUM jpeg insert) I was having. 2022 VERSION NOW ALLOWS me to insert the jpegs into the transition FLIP Album and VS DOES NOT CRASH ... as the 2021 version DID NOT allow an insert.. with VS crashing.
Also,I still have to RESET LIBRARY to avoid transition/scrubber/VS freezing etc in the 2022 version. I can deal with that at this point and hope new patches can be submitted for any fixes. I will do the full 30 day trial and decide.
Chaz -- as a matter of interest, in the trial version, when you go to Help > About, what version/build are you shown: 25.0.0.??? (I haven't yet downloaded the trial version...)
Hi all, I decided to download 2022 VS Ultimate. I was offered the loyalty purchase price. So I jumped on it. Anyways..
Not to start with a negative comment but I am finding VS Ultimate 2022 is still crashing/freezing with certain executions.. at this moment, (I just installed recently tho).
I'm still resetting the library and it helps with other issues I had in prior posts and also fixed the flip album inserts.( at least this is not crashing when I try to insert jpegs..) That is a plus for me with 2022 version. So on positive side of my comments, 2022 version has helped with issues I was encountering in older versions. Also love the new added features!
So the crashing I will investigate deeper. Being a fresh start, maybe a bit of tweaking might help the crashing. I will follow up near future.
I was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue I have came to with the new VS 2022. I noticed the video viewer scrubber now follows my scrubber in timeline. I never had that issue in previous version. I must say.. It bugs the hell out of me when trying to edit a point. I tried to find a solution in preferences but I need someones input to disable new feature.
Also, I am finding 2022 version crashes. I have been on this version for 4 days. I was idle with VS and needed to do a search online window and when I came back to continue an edit, VS crashed when I clicked on it. I didn't even make an execution. It doesn't happen a lot but it does catch me off guard sometimes and VS crashes. I just have to make sure I do a SAVE on every edit. Anyways, I will keep trying to get around this new encounter..
Thnx for reply.. I did remove that check mark and saved. This did not work..I know what you men tho..( line going down) I turned that off. My issue is if I even move the mouse in time line, the video in the preview rolls with curser. Only if I go outside time line, then it does not follow..I never had that issue in previous version.

Yes this is a pain when the preview screen updates when moving the mouse across the timelines, the Scrubber option in Preferences has been deselected with no effect, except for hiding the line.
Corel should be aware of this issue as it was reported to the development team during testing.
Even so I think you should also report this to Corel Support
You can also try PM Glus, last reply here https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=392467#p392467
Thankyou for reply. I created a ticket with corel support. I am curious what they come back with. Hope for a solution in near future. Also, I find VS 2022 is crashing during editing executions more often than previous version. I will keep trying different options. Might be a few settings to adjust.
