Error code when burning a CD "Error Code 80041394"

Post by Firetrojan »

I attempt to burn a CD and I get an error code in a pop-up box that says:

Error Code 80041394
Ulead.Burn.Now

I haven't tried to burn a DVD yet, but if it can't burn a CD then it's no good anyways. The error code comes up after the cd is almost done burning, in the closing phase of the disc. I am using a Pioneer DVR-A08 drive and the Ulead MovieFactory 3.5 Deluxe Suite.

Does anyone know what causes this error? Is this a software problem or perhaps a hardware error?

Thanks.

i used memorex 74mb cd media once, and delta 80mb cd media the other time. the sites i have visited have not told me which cd media will work with my burner or not, so i figured anything would probably work, especially the memorex.

To know what media will work with your Pioneer DVR-A08, please check http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php ... er+DVR-A08 .

I can see Memorex has 1 poor burning quality out of 4 for DVD media. Maybe you can try other media brands.

Hope this helps.

htchien make sure you read there comments after all the person was using DVD Decrypter which not a very good burning tool.
I have Pioneer DVR-A08XL and all I have ever used for 3 years now was Memorex disc.
I don't like the Ulead MovieFactory 3.5 Deluxe Suite
Hmm memorex 74mb don't you mean 74min
Your best beat would be email Ulead Techsupport and ask about the error code or call them.

Is there any other burning softwares installed in your system?? I just heart that Ulead Burn. Now will have problems when burning a CD-RW if you have Alcohol 120% (a disk image creation tool and DVD-ROM simulator) installed in your system....

the only other burning software i have on my comp is easy cd creator 5.0. i attempted to use this software to burn a cd and it says all my media is bad, and won't even recognize it. from this it seems that it is the hardware.

my faulty hardware conclusion is further supported by the fact that ulead support says they have never heard of this error and believe it is the hardware as well. their solutions were generally the same, check the media, check the jumper settings, check for software conflicts.

Interesting note...they told me to update my 3.5 suite deluxe with the 3.0 patch, the second one on the screen, Build ID: 300P01. After installation I can no longer choose the option to create a data/music disc. It says that I no longer have that installed on my computer. Thanks tech support!

Somethings to note:

1. You should remove Roxio (especially Easy CD Creator 5 and 6) in your system, it will install some unstable drivers which will conflict other burning softwares and might crash your system.

2. I was told by Ulead that you should not install the 300P01 build because it's for DVDMF 3.0 only. DVDMF 3.5 already includes the bug fixes in the 300P01 build.

According to the information I got from Ulead, DVDMF 3.5 only needs the following update packs, you do not need to install any patches for 3.0 unless the patch is been stated for 3.5.

Ulead Data-Add 2.0 Update Pack
16X DVD Burning Pack

Dear Firetrojan, I think you should remove your DVDMF and then install it again. Before that, remove Roxio.

Hope this helps.

I have same error code. It only comes up when burning an audio disc: I have burnt dozens of DVDs successfully. To burn a CD-RW, I cannot close the disc; to burn a CD-R then I must uncheck the direct burn box (ie close the disc AND burn from an image file.

My PC is a fast P4 3GHz with 1024 Ram and should do a direct burn easily!

I have found MF3 very fussy and riddled with stupid settings that you need to know about but yet cannot anticipate in advance. I will buy a different program brand next time.

Further to my last post, now MF3 won't burn audio files on CDR at all. I downloaded a free program that works MUCH better than MF3 called CDBurnerXP Pro which is so much better in every way.

I really wish I hadn't bought MF3.

Dear SK:

Can you check if there is any other burning related programs or drive image tool installed in your system? So far as I know from Ulead Tech Support, the Burn. Now version which is included in Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator cannot burn audio CDs successfully when Alcohol 120% is installed in the system. If Alcohol 120% is been removed from the system, then Ulead Burn. Now can burn audio CDs without any problem.

Ulead is awared of this problem and I believe they will fix it in the future.

And, if you can start the burning process when you try to burn CD or DVD but get some errors when burning programs start to close the disc, it's usually the disc problem because some cheap disc media will have poor burning quality in the disc closing area. To use another disc brand like TDK, Philips, Mitsubishi, Sony, Ritek, Melody, Verbitam, imation or Optidisc usually will solve the problem.

Hope this helps.

Dears,

Can you tell me what audio source files are you using when you try to use Burn. Now to burn audio CDs?? Are they MP3 files?
