Saving templates in Paint Shop Pro Ult 2021

Post by ellipse »

Question: How can I save a template in Paint Shop Pro Ult 2021 ?

I'm trying to work out for to save my own templates as the save / save as does not give me this option. Neither can I see any icons in the workspace that would let me do this.

Templates are .pspimage files that contain layers and masking layers.
You can download some free templates in 2021.
Go to File/New from Template/Collage/ and find the Shatter 01, 02, and 03 templates.
After Installation, you will find them here:
2021 Template.jpg
I don't see a way to display your own templates in "New from Template" if you save them in the same folder. I suggest you save them as "simple" pspimage files
in your own folder elsewhere.

Small addition, the list of templates is a store. The file that lists the categories, cost, and where to find the thumbnails etc. is C:\ProgramData\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2021\IPP\storeData.json

I have managed to successfully add my own listing to this file and gotten it to show up in the New From Template box. Occasionally PSP will update it with the latest and greatest information overwriting any changes you make so it wouldn't be a permanent solution. In fact it only took a few minutes for PSP to update it in the background forcing me to update it again. I ended up making a very simple script (not at all production ready) to update the file with my custom templates every time I ran it just to play around. Yeah, Corel intended this purely for purchasing reasons.

Thanks!!! & This is helpful – I followed your filepath and don’t have an IPP folder, so I did a search for “storeData.json”, and nothing.

I downloaded a trial version and then purchased it, where a window told me that all I had to do was put in the licence no., where it made no mention that I would have to uninstall the trial version and install again from scratch. I’m now wondering if this is causing a problem as I am having other issues as well.
