Audio problem - slight unpleasant metallic overtone after rendering
I quite often perform my piano to mutiple cameras and record the playing onto cubase so I can master it properly and add it onto the video timeline. Sounds great at this point but when I export/render the file as MP4 the audio seems to loose quality with an annoying metallic overtone. It's only slight but it's enough to be thoroughly annoying when I am trying to gets across high fidelity sound. Does anyone else experience this and know what the problem might be?

Welcome to the forum.
It would be useful to know the original format of the audio. If it is mp3, for instance, VS often has difficulty with the LameMP3 codec, and in those case we usually suggest people use the free Audacity -- or a third party audio editor of their choice -- to change the audio either to standard .wav format, or even another mp3 codec, and insert the new audio into the video project.

Hi Ken
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried all 320kbps MP3, 16 bit wav and 24bit wav but all with the same result. However since sending this message I think I seem to have solved the problem after a lot of trial and error. I have found that if I click on the Share tab, click on AVC/H.264 and select 1920x1-80,25p,20Mbps and then click on the little plus symbol to customise the options, then selected the 'Compression' tab and then set the audio settings to LPCM that seems to solve the problem - nice clean audio. None of the strange metallic artifacts I could hear on the MP4 exports.

LPCM is of course standard .wav format, and it's why I mentioned it earlier. It produces larger files, but usually comes without problems, as you've found.
