Getting New Pattern Files to Work

Post by Linda Lou »

I am still setting up PSP 2018 on my new computer. I have downloaded some .pat files from the internet. I unzipped then to my Patterns folder but they are not showing up when I open PSP.
Do they need to be imported somehow?

PaintShop Pro doesn't use .pat files, it uses Image files like JPG, PNG, or PSPImage.

Are these GIMP or Photoshop .pat files? If they are GIMP pattern files you can import them with this script - https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=63906

Photoshop pattern formats, however, I don't know of any way to import those.

I'm pretty sure they are PhotoShop files. Thank you for your reply, however. I'm going to refer to this if I come across GIMP patterns.

I will work on a Photoshop pattern importer. I actually have the majority of the code working just not any of the important parts. So it might take a day or two as I finish the code and test several pattern files to make sure it works as expected.

That would be great!
Considering that PS patterns won't work with PSP without an importer, I've been wondering which PhotoShop resources/files will work.
I know the brushes do because I'm using those. What other PS files will work with PaintShop Pro?
