intel quick sync video
how do i know if this feature is working?
did a test of 1m 30s clip 1080 which took 25 seconds to render
made no difference intel quick sync or nvidia cuda or even with hardware acceleration switched off! all took same 25 seconds!
also did format factory utility test which said intel qsv not supported!?
intel site says my cpu does support quick sync!?

Re: intel quick sync video
I would think rendering a 1 min 30 second video in 25 seconds is pretty good, what are you expecting to see.
To give the render a little more work to do add transitions, Colour correction etc.
From share deselect Smart Render, that will force to render everything.
That should give the render a bit more work to do, you can then view Task Manager – Performance
If you view the graph you should see peaks and troughs as the process passes the transitions where extra work is required.
Now you may find the CPU and GPU play their part.
I cannot comment on acceleration settings as I use AMD and so far Video Studio does not support AMD

Re: intel quick sync video
seems that mvidia gpu disables quick sync
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/fo ... is-forced/
maybe i should uninstall my nvidia studio driver that i downloaded since videostudio doesnt use gpu anyway?

Re: intel quick sync video
I think things have changed since that post was made 7 years ago, I don't have any problem using nvidia or quick sync

Re: intel quick sync video
You will note that in the performance tab options, there's a one-or-the-other choice between Intel quicksync and nvidia.
Intel claims that every cpu it has sold since 2011 has had a video cpu on board - all the software has to do is use it. Presumably, that's what intel quicksync is/does.
OTOH, nvidia support (a driver) for a graphics card may well turn off the intel quicksync as a clash of video processing
Which still leaves a choice of one or the other. Not both.

Re: intel quick sync video
Hi,
It is possible to use the Nvidia card and the Intel simultaneously but you usually have to enable this in BIOS. This will be an option for multiple-monitor mode and "iGPU". You may have to connect the motherboard display adapter to a second monitor to get this to work. On my system, I always use the Nvidia card for the more intensive graphics programs but this allows me to utilize Intel Quicksync for fast, high quality renders.

Re: intel quick sync video
if i do manage to activate multiple monitor mode, where will the option be to switch between the two?
update: when i switch to hybrid mode in my lenovo settings it switches from nvidia card to intel uhd graphics
will this achieve the same goal?

Re: intel quick sync video
From Trevor’s post do I take it that neither makes any difference if using AMD?

Re: intel quick sync video
This is not the case as for example, Intel’s line of “F” processors, e.g. Core i9-9900KF, do not have Intel Processors Graphics onboard so you will need a graphics card to run them.Davidk wrote:Intel claims that every cpu it has sold since 2011 has had a video cpu on board - all the software has to do is use it.
