i recently installed videostudio ultimate 2019 cd on my laptop and it is what it is.
works ok but i wanted faster rendering so i ordered 2020 version.
while installing i left the room for a while and the computer went to sleep(forgot to change settings for laptop never to sleep).
on my return i entered my password and installing was in the middle of bonus features and just continued to install which seemed to be ok.
in my first initial test there seem to be a few glitches which i need to test further but in the meantime, is it a problem that it went to sleep in the middle of installation?
was thinking to uninstall and start again but will this affect 2019 version?
should i uninstall both and then reinstall both again?
is there a limited number of times you can install 2019/2020 cd versions?
also i saw that DavidK wrote that there isnt yet a clean up tool for 2020.
will ccleaner be enough?
or revo uninstaller pro?

Re: laptop went to sleep during installation
Hi
I don’t know if the laptop going to sleep caused any issues in installing the program.
Are you having any specific problems, if not then I would not bother with a re-install.
Uninstalling via Program and Features should be sufficient to remove the program, it is when this process fails or you are having issues installing that the Cleanup tool may be useful which will remove the additional plugins and may affect the earlier VS installations.
This has been an issue with the 2020 clean-up facility and the reason for not making it available to the general public.
If you are intending to re-Install 2020 I would first uninstall, then using the Stud download the latest installation file to your pc.
These have been updated and will not require any service packs to update the program.

i had problems downloading the program originally so i purchased cd version instead which is fine and automatically downloads sp4
so just uninstall and then rerun the cd?

Re: laptop went to sleep during installation
Upps typo should have been “stub”, aka Web Installer it is the small file “VideoStudio_Install.exe” for 2020 my version is 6,977kb, think of it as a Download Install Manager
I assume the disc version has one of these files.
Running that first allows us to insert our serial number then registration and finally to download and install the program.
I never use a disc and always download the program
I assume using the disc will also activate a download of some type prior to installing the program.

1 / Score Fitter poor playback in library was reported in another post
https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=383004#p383004
Score fitter is part of Auto Music where the clips do appear to play ok
2 / cannot comment on that, I have AMD with no option to select that, I deselect the Acceleration options

Re: laptop went to sleep during installation
videostudio2020_installer 6,973kb, with a videostudio logo is what i have. when i click on it it takes me back to the same auto setup where i enter serial number etc yet it still downloads sp4.
does this mean its not the latest version?
i dont have another logo to click on like you suggested and i looked in all the folders eg 64bit, standard content 2, common ?

Re: laptop went to sleep during installation
AFAIK, sp4 is the latest update to VS2020.
If you are uninstalling, the simplified version is
- use the windows programs and feature uninstall,
- use explorer to delete the application folders, (even if you are going to re-install here, a corrupted file might exist and new version may not overwrite it: if a file already exists normal practice would be to skip it, there are ways around that but vendor developers get lazy and generally allow the default)
- then cclean to delete the unwanted files and remove the leftovers from then registry (many many of those),
- re-boot then re-install from your saved download stub installer.

When I run Video Studio 2020 I go to Help – About
This shows the version I am using It shows 23.3.0.646 (64Bit Ultimate) that is the upto date version
I assume the disc version number is the same as the download version
As you have installed using a Disc, I am unsure if the folders you mention (64bit, standard content 2, common) are on the hard drive or on the disc
