Coloring Book Bundle

Post by thargrove99 »

I purchased the PSP 2021 and got a few free bundles included. I installed this one and I can't find where it is installed the templates. No documentation or instructions on where they installed them. I've obviously looked in the wrong area for them.
Any help would be appreciated. The Chat was able to help because they said I got the wrong division. hummmm

I don't have 2021 so don't know about the bundle. Maybe you could do a search of your C drive for the word coloringbooks or just coloring?

Did the installation give you the option of placing a shortcut on your desktop? If so, and if you chose that, then right click on the shortcut icon and the right click options menu will give you a way to find the location to which the shortcut points.

Have you tried looking in the Public user folder? C:\users\public

They have put things in the Public Pictures folder and Public Documents folders before.

The other option I can think of is they've put them in the Templates File -> New From Template

thanks everyone, I tried looking under C:\users\public and even searched the entire c: and my f: (data drive) for all pspimage and other file formats Corel tech support said to search for. Tech Support has been no help at all. They even scheduled a remote desktop connection date and time with me and had me waiting for over 4 hours and finally told me they would reschedule it. Haven't heard back from them. I keep adding replies to the support ticket but no answers yet from them. I hate making a big deal on a free package but I guess it's the point of wanting them to honor their support.

Any help would be appreciated,

I wasn't able to find anything. I submitted my first ticket to support 9 days ago. I hear from them but with nothing but the same thing, re-install. Re-download, here is a new download link.

Well then there's only one thing to do. Buy a copy for myself and use an installation tracer to see what it does. I don't have an installation tracer so first to find a good one.

EDIT: This is annoying.

Their installer is clearly the issue. I could not get it to install, so I tried several methods, but the default installer doesn't actually end up writing the images to the HDD. I installed RevoUninstaller Pro trial for its monitoring capabilities, as well as using ProcessMonitor, and doing a full HDD search. I got the file names from the installer using using LessMSI so I knew exactly what to look for. It didn't install anything. The Store on the Welcome tab of PSP (where I bought it from) says it should install on the Desktop. And it clearly doesn't. So the installer is failing to install the files.

Hi, thargrove99 and Dirk184

Sorry to hear the bad situation.
Some questions here:
1. Except the "coloring book", if you also got some free download content; can you find/ use them correctly? (Please also let me know what content did you get and the status about them, ex: cannot find/ OK to use)
2. For the "coloring book" content, let me see if I can find someone to find out what's wrong ......

Best,
Eric Lin

Hi, Everyone

Did you see the attached screenshot when you purchased?
There should be a green area describing where to find the content you bought.
Screenshot 2020-11-26 144402 b.jpg
If you want to Ire-download the file, you can go to PSP\ Store, select "my library", you should find a list of all the purchased items.

Also, in the order confirmation mail, you can see the "Download" link in the mail so you can re-download again.

Please check and let me know your results.
Thanks.

Eric-lin. I'm not one of the original posters complaining about the lack of installation. However, last night I purchased the coloring book through the store on PSP2021 to test it out, and yes I saw that message. And the installer did not install anything on my desktop nor on the administrator's desktop (I use best practices and have a separate administrator account for all installations). As stated above, ProcessMonitor and RevoUninstaller did not see it write any of the PSPImage files to the HDD at all just a few INI files. And a thorough search of my HDD, including my desktop, yielded no coloring book images.

I don't even understand why Corel is using an installer for something like this when a zip file would suffice. Actually it's two executable files, first an EXE to unzip the MSI into the AppData's Local Temp folder and then running the MSI adding unnecessary complexity to the whole thing.

I have the same issue. I can't get it to install the coloring books or PSP ULTIMATE DD - Both say I must run as Admin which I did, but no files installed. I guess I need to contact support?

Hi, LeviFiction
Thanks for the help.
I had sent you a message and please check it.

Another 2 questions are:
Did you use different account between "Install PSP" and "Daily use PSP"?
In the order mail, you can see the download link. Can you try the download link? I assume that you should able to see the downloaded install setup file, but after you execute the setup file, you may also have the "not know where it install files to" issue.
Please let me know your results.

Thanks.

1) Yes I use a separate Administrator account for installing software than the one I use for general daily use. And again, I checked the desktop of that administrator account as well. Nothing there.

2) That is correct

I used the download link for the installer and nothing was installed. I used SysInternals ProcessMonitor to watch everything the installer did. I also have logging turned on by default for all MSI installations and the log file doesn't show any successful file writing.

So, both installing from the email or from PSP directly shows the same issue.

Hi
Some bundles provided by Corel first download to the %temp% folder and should auto install, if that does not happen then the files may still be in the temp folder, if so you may be able to manually run to install.
Just a thought

From the welcome screen when we choose a file to Download then Install the actual Install button starts the download and that can be confusing, a green progress bar shows at the top right of the panel.
Usually after downloading the installer shows to auto installs the file, but not always.
