Hi there
This is something I have been struggling with for a while.
The play back audio from within the programme during edit etc, is very, very low, meaning I have to increase my volume loads, the result is when I go to play something back outside of VS I get deafened!
Is there a volume setting within VS that I am missing?
Anyone else getting this?
Thanks
VS X10 programme audio

Re: VS X10 programme audio
Place a video in the timeline, or an audio clip in the music track, highlight the track, open Sound Mixer and select Options, click on the Attribute Tab, what level is the volume set to, you should be able to increase the volume sufficiently to blow your ear drums off.
If the doesn't work not sure what else to suggest

Re: VS X10 programme audio
Hi
I would set my external speakers to play a song using my media players, set the sound level correctly.
That level is what you should be aiming for when using Video Studio
Using Video Studio play the same song on the timelines in clip and project, is that ok
Now using your projects if the levels are not correct then it will be the actual files sound levels, you can adjust levels using the options panel 100% or as Robert mentions can use the sound mixer.
I always found that when burning a disc, the audio was always higher than needed, I guess similar to your first post, but did not notice much of a problem with the DV.Avi or MTS as part of the project.

Re: VS X10 programme audio
aha
Well just shows you can be baffled by your own confusion.
I clicked on sound mixer, and noticed that each programme can have its own audio level set.
VS was way down at 5% I have now made it comparable with other audio applications and all is well.
Odd I never noticed this before.
Thanks for the ideas and help.
This time, operator error was to blame
