Hey there! Is VS 2020 full of bugs like 2019 - worth upgrading from 2018?

Post by garjobo123 »

Simple question huh! No doubt the replies ( if any )will all state 'depends on what your using it for yadda yadda yadda'

Simples. i wanna edit videos, easy peasy, as few corruptions as possible. I heard 2019 stinks ( and having tried it - agree ) so, outta the loop for a while, 2020 - worth forking out the current offer of £20 odd squid to move across?

What'd you think?

One word answers work best i find. Yes or No.

Cheers now.

Well here I am again - popped in to see what was happening in the forums. It has been 16 months since I moved away from Corel Video Studio that I used to love and hate. Any regrets? Absolutely not. Well Ok I occasionally miss the sheer simplicity. But then I blink and that passes and on we go. There really is WAY better out there for not a lot more money. Good to see the faithful still here though :)
Video Studio 2019 is still installed on my PC and I just opened it to see if it would import an odd video file and it did! Would I upgrade to a newer version. No, not even for the ridiculously low offer it made when I opened it.

What aspects are you finding "WAY better" and why?

Thanks.

I moved to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum which is a cut-down version (but very similar to) Vegas Pro. And if you hit the limits, you can smoothly upgrade to Pro and not have to re-learn everything, and can import your projects too. It is more stable, faster and for me more intuitive than Corel. They utilise the rendering engine of Pro so with the right GPU hardware it is super-fast to render H264 and H265 footage. It is very well supported and clearly a highly mature product with a long history. Looking back Corel seems much like a toy to me now, to be honest. And the endless teething problems with each new release... No thanks.
