When I press "end" to go to the end of a clip and then cut another clip based on this positioning, VS always cuts the clip 1 frame too short which subsequently must be added back. It's annoying.

Apologies, I have now used MCE again with the same files and have no problems with audio sync, I am unable to replicate the issues I was having yesterday.
You should try using MCE
