I recently had to reload VideoStudio 2019. It worked perfectly the last time I used it. After the reload, while in edit, I only have sound if I have the video clip highlighted. So, I can only listen to one video clip at a time. I thought it may be a corrupted install, so I removed and installed again. Same issue.
I then went ahead and purchased Video Studio 2020 thinking that may solve it. Nope! Same issue. I've been using this program since the late 90s. I have never had this happen. I can't figure it out.
No sound unless video is highlighted

Just to clarify, do you have no sound when in Project mode? (Project/Clip buttons directly below the preview screen.)
Also, is your audio on these clips 5.1 Dolby or something else? For some reason known only to themselves, Corel have dropped support for Dolby 5.1, though still support Dolby dual channel stereo under Windows 10.

Thank you for responding!! This is driving me nuts.Ken Berry wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 8:16 pm Just to clarify, do you have no sound when in Project mode? (Project/Clip buttons directly below the preview screen.)

At the risk of sounding stupid, I have no clue. I've always been happy with what it does without me doing anything special.
These I've clips I've recorded in the past. I string them together as needed for grammar lessons. I record my vocals using the dubbing/voice-over function. I use music/sound bytes provided by the software. I keep it very simple. They've always worked until today. Yesterday, they worked fine as always.
I am in project/edit mode.
Now I did just reinstall it. Is there a setting I may have made when I bought 2019 that I may be forgetting to do with the reinstall?

You have to be in one or the other. Directly under the preview screen, which have you chosen: Project (which should play the whole project, including audio) or just Clip (which only highlights and plays one clip at a time)?I am in project/edit mode.

Re: No sound unless video is highlighted
Hi
I do not know of any user settings that would affect the audio playback
You could try re-setting the program by re-naming the 23.0 folder
This will revert the library back to as installed so you may wish to first Export the library as a backup
You will find the reset folder here
C:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)
This folder string is hidden so if you cannot find then type %appData% into the search, will take you to the roaming folder.
Are you able to provide a sample so we can test on our systems.
