just purchased new lenono legion 5 i7 10750h with gtx 1660ti
why am i experiencing jerky video in preview window and program seems slugish
this laptop is much higher spec than my old one and i updated all drivers
my old laptop was a dell i5 3210m with 8gb ram and rendering times are about same on both machines approx 30min for 30min video
on my old machine i never needed to make smart proxy files and videos were smooth and not jerky and im not even doing 4k just regular mp4 1080!?
my new machine should be much faster!
did cpubenchmark test on my new legion 5 and results came out excellent!
im thinking of returning the laptop but there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it after benchmark test!

Hate to break it to you, but you could throw a 9,000 core cpu and 64Gb of ram, with a Raid 0 m.2 setup, and Corel will still just sit there. (Within reason).
You STILL need to edit with a proxy. Every time.
Also, change the priority. Task manager. Details tab. Right click vstudio and select priority, Realtime.
Plus, as it's a NEW laptop, it will probably be filled with lots and lots of rubbish running at startup. When I buy a new machine, I reset and clean install (but that's me!).

You've started this new topic despite having another identical topic (https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=67590) that you didn't respond to. What is the point of starting this new duplicate topic?dawad wrote:videostudio 2019 still slow!!!

Re: videostudio 2019 still slow!!!
I saw the other topic as well, but again, my Lenovo laptop is performing very nicely. In the editor I am NOT using the proxy file function and the video files run just fine, not jerky at all. They are MP4, 30 FPS, from a GoPro 7 and a Lumix FZ47. With my old HP laptop I had to use proxy files or the video files from those same cameras would be very jerky. Not sure which difference between my Lenovo and your Lenovo would result in the difference.
