Trouble with Audio

Post by JEZDAD »

Running Pro X4 (don't laugh)

While in clip mode I can hear the audio just fine, but when I switch to project it is absent. I used to be able click on the sound mixer and it would work but not anymore. Saved projects come out muted.

Thank You

Welcome to the forum... and we're not laughing. If X4 meets your needs, that's fine.

But you need to tell us what the format of your audio is: right click a clip either in the timeline or library window and copy it's Properties here, please, or take a screenshot of the Properties box and upload it here as an attachment. And tell us also the Project Properties or properties of the format you are wanting to produce.

Thanks for the response. It is an AVI file and I am looking to edit the file file and create a shorter video (end format is not important to me but usually produce WMV). My past productions I have started with MP4 instead of AVI. But is intersting I can hear the audio during editing (clip) but it disappears in project mode.

I took the the AVI and converted it to a WMV and was able to get sound in the project file. Not sure why AVI had trouble but was able to find a work around. Thanks for format idea!

If my memory serves me there was some problems with audio where changing the volume level from 100% to 99% allowed us to hear the sound, i cannot recall which format that was, but maybe worth a try, may save you converting the files.
