PSP Pro 2020 / Windows 10
In the Manage tab I have lots of tags which are not used and that I don't want. I realise I can delete them individually by right-clicking, but can I batch delete unused tags ?
TIA

Providing you don't need any tags / Exif data saved in the same pictures you can:
Search for the tags on manage tab>
Highlight All>
Go to File> Batch Process>
Output Settings>
[Tick] Delete Exif Information
Start>

Re: Can I batch delete unused tags ?
So really quick, if a tag is actually not being used on any images at all, you can delete an entire tag from the database pretty easily.
In Manage Mode make sure the Navigation Palette is open
Click on the "Collections" button to show the different collections/sorting options
Scroll open the Tags section
Right-click on the unused tag
Select Delete
Now the tag should be removed from the database.
If the tag is still being used on images then we get into some fun and interesting details. PSP does not batch delete tags from the image files themselves.
Tags are stored in two places: 1) PSP's SQLite database ImageDB.db and 2) The File itself (only file formats that support tagging of course)
PSP will always automatically add tags that exist inside of the file you're working with. If the file has a tag that you've deleted from the PSP database, PSP will add it back because the file has that tag. If you remove a tag from the file either in PSP or in another program (e.g. Windows Explorer) then PSP will remove the tag association for that file in its database and you may have to manually delete the tag from the database using the instructions above.
It should be noted that image formats like PNG don't support tagging directly (it's not part of the main spec) and so any tags PSP assigns to them are in the database only. So deleting the tag in the database will look like it was batch removed from all of the PNGs. Or any other format that PSP doesn't support tagging.
