File format associations list missing psp animations file

I can no longer save a file in my psp 2018 to the "psp animations " as it is now missing in my PSP File associations folder.... any help on how to get this back and working ... I use this to make multi animations and then go to animation shop to then eventually save as a gif..

The file Format associations just means Windows will open a PSPAnimation file when double clicked, it shouldn't affect your ability to save the file. The file types you can save are in the file save as dialog.

There's not much we can do about that file format association list built into PSP. But if you want to associate PSPAnimation files with PSP even though it's not in that list, save a PSPAnimation file, go to the file in Windows File Explorer, right-click and choose Open With and choose PaintShop Pro either by browsing for it or if it shows up in the list just choosing it.

Thanks for that information, I thought that was why I could no longer bring up the file to save as animation shop ... and that is my main concern ... as when I try to save a file in animation shop it does not appear in the list at all of save file options

I am posting a picture of when trying to save from my psp to animation shop but as you can see no animation shop shows up in my list

But going back to your first post in this thread, when you go to File > Save As, is PSP Animation Shop among the listed file types?

If it helps at all, I can save as psp animation file which just has a file format of ".psp" and giving it a quick look, it's just a PSPImage file set for PSP file version 7 compatibility. I don't know of any animation specific features in the PSP Image file format. So saving as a PSPImage using the psp format and setting the options compatibil8ity to PSP 7 should be sufficient.

Ken Berry ...no it is not in the list as you can see i did get a pic to go through above.... this is so very weird as I am not new to doing animations and have been doing it since jasc 8

Try a PSP reset (launch it while maintaining the Shift key down). Your files will be preserved but your workspace.

Just an addition to Jean-Luc's suggestion. Make sure you save any workspace you have customized as it will be lost by doing a reset.
