Assume I load and modify a *.jpg picture into PSP X2.
When I save it now (after edit) the last modified date timestamp is adjusted to the current time.
is there a way to tell PSP to keep the original last modified timestamp?

It seems to be a Windows feature:

Re: Save edited picture AND preserve original (last modified) timestamp?
Yes, if the write operation is ONLY handled by Windows the last modification timestamp is reset by Windows.
But there are many tools available which "correct" this windows adjustments by re-adjustments.
They remember the original timestamp and set it back in a second step after write operation finished.
The file timestamp can be even set manually by such tools like Change Attribute

But there are many other tools which provide a corresponding option to preserve the timestamp after editing an object.
So again: Does PSP X2 offer such a feature?

I don't found such an option when saving with PSP (tested with 2021). As far as I remember (since version 7 Jasc), that feature was never embedded.
