I think i spoke to soon in regards to the slow loading issue, i have disabled splash screen and it still takes about 10 seconds to load and only since the Service Pack.

You people complaining about PSP opening times in seconds should have mine. PSP2021 took 38s to appear on the task bar, 2:07 to be usable. This is normal for all the last four versions of PSP. I thought that was pretty good, probably because my Manage tab is pointing at four image folders that are dozens of GB in size and contain hundreds of thousands of images. If I switch folders in the manage tab, it's another long wait. I have a new gaming laptop just over a year old and it's the same there as on this 6 year old desktop. And it's that way every time I open PSP; it makes no difference if I close it and reopen it immediately. Y'all have nothing to complain about.

My main issue is the time it takes to resize anything apart from the slow start up etc. I am totally unimpressed and for resizing anything I switch back to PSP 2020. I was hoping the update would resolve the issues but I am afraid not. None of this has anything to do with computer spec´s as in RAM etc quite simply 2020 does it perfectly and something has been introduced into 2021 to cause it to be extremely slow at resizing. After this I doubt very much I will ever upgrade again, very disappointing. :(

Yes, AI was introduced in PSP 2021 when resizing is involved.
AI resize is set by default when you resize bigger than the original. And AI is better but slower because it makes many more calculations.
If you want the old way in PSP 2021, uncheck the AI and select Resample using Smart Size.

My old 4 GB of RAM PC opens 2021 in 20 seconds so no complaints on that score.

So I took the plunge and bought PSP 2021 Ult on Cyber Monday for $35, with 6 other products, a boatload of presets and plugins, and a $30 coupon against a future Corel purchase (VS 2021). I mean, why not?

Just punch the button and started for the first time. 20 seconds to become fully functional. That is better than 2020. Did a little work with and it seems less sluggish than 2020, so I am happy. Now I just got to learn exactly what I can do with PhotoMirage and Corel Painter that I got for free.
