Renaming Split Screen Template

Post by yukoner2 »

Is there a way to rename a split screen template I created, or for that matter a way to name them as they're being created?
They seem to simply be given a number.

Hi yukoner2

First what version of video studio are you working with, I am having some issues using 2020, I am unable to drop to timelines using Shift to drop as Flattened, 2020 freezes / stalls.
Can you please update your profile to include your program version, thanks.
OK
Unfortunately there is no option to select a name whilst using the Split Screen, but we can rename after creating the template.

When using the Split Screen Template Editor accessed from the icon on the tool bar.
After creating the effect we have two options, 1 /OK and 2 / Export as Template.
Using OK is probably the best option as that creates a template that can be edited again using the Split Screen Editor
A VSP clip is placed in the Media Library, this is dragged to the timeline to add to our project.
In addition double clicking the library clip will open the editor again to allow us to update the template.
I would recommend that you use this OK option.

To rename the template
Right click the library clip for Locate on Computer – rename the file and / or move to a different folder.
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\22.0 (for 2019)
Back with Video Studio you will have to delete the original clip, then drag the renamed version back to the library.
I would suggest that you may be best in creating a new Media Library for the Split Screen templates.

2 / Export as Template.
This option saves an Instant Project template 2019, for 2020 the library has been renamed as Templates ( just to confuse us)
This option will not open again in the Split Screen Editor, but can be used in the same way as any other Instant Project Template
Renaming is quite difficult and may involve creating a new Instant Project template using File Export As Template – Instant Projects.
The Instant Project folder will be saved here
C:\Users\User Name\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate

Your best option is to use OK to save and close the editor
