silent crash ultimate 2020

hello to all
i have purchased last 2020 Ultimate version 15 days ago but cannot get it to work correctly

i have regular silent crashes , Video Studio just stops after few minutes and closes without any message while i'm editing
or just reading a video on timeline

i have tried many ways to find out where this could come from:

with or without proxies
with or without material acceleration box checked
with or without nvidia CUDA/intel quick sync video
also changing project and using only projects made with 2020 version
have also uninstalled and reinstalled via new dowload on corel site
i have also tried with or without music file mp3
the project preferences are set on same as original rush
AVCHD 1980x1080 25ips

i have a new computer HP OMEN which has no problem : Wind 10 X64 I7-9700F CPU 3GHZ
NVIDIA GEFORCE 1660 TI

i still have also X7 on my computer which works very well and hardly NEVER crashes

may i have , dear Sirs and Madams , your suggestions for help

Does it happen with all clips or just AVCHD ones? Are your AVCHD clips variable frame rate? As test, try converting some of the AVCHD clips to MP4 and then let VS match the clip properties and see if the problem persists.

the frame rate of my clips is 25 ips

so , yes the test is positiv
VS doesn t shut down anymore
but this would mean that i sd convert all my MTS clips to MP4 before
starting editing !
isn t there another solution to keep my original clips as they are and edit with these
as i do it with other softs such as magix , cyberlink or pinnacle or even corel X7 ?

I have a Panasonic 900 series camcorder that records to MTS Pal and have little or no crashes directly associated with these files
I have been working today rendering MTS and have not had a crash using 2020
I do have some problems importing MTS files to the library, I find the process very slow to complete, better to import directly to the timelines.

There was a recommendation by Corel to install k-Lite codec pack if we have problems using HD video.
I do have this installed but cannot say if this codec pack will make any difference.

I cannot really suggest anything else as I do not have problems so cannot replicate any crashes.
Maybe re-installing the program may improve things, hmmm

When you installed Video Studio did you first install the Trial version.
After purchase did you uninstall the Trial then install the purchased version or simply activated the trial to the full version.

after uninstall the purchased version then reinstalled from dowloaded version .

reverting a few months later
just to say that i got rid of my 'silent crashes' and now my corel 2020 ultimate works well

after installing such codec no more crashes , thanks to him for this !
unless it might be due to last window 10 updates? Who can know?

hello to all
well , i thaught that i had got rid of theses crashes but finally after a few weeks of non utilisation of my corel 2020 ultimate
these are back again
no possibility to get corel 2020 to work properly and edit a complete video
Unless i convert all my rushes in MP4 before editing in corel 2020

so ...
i got back to my COREL X7 wich works perfectly with W10 .

But going back to a 7 or 8 years version is really increditble and disapointing .

anyone would think that a 2020 or 2021 version would work better than the old ones
but it s not the case for me .
moreover my computer is only 2 years old (OMEN HP Obelisk desktop)

Unless i convert all my rushes in MP4 before editing in corel 2020 ... i got back to my COREL X7 wich works perfectly with W10 .

The ability to import video clips straight from the camera varies from VS version to version. For example, MP4 clips coming from a Sony RX100VI wouldn't import into X7 and had to be converted. However, those very same clips imported fine into VS2018.
