Paintshop Pro 2021 Ultimate x64bit, Windows 10 desktop PC

I have a problem with Paintshop Pro 2021 Ultimate. Having opened an image and then selecting an option from the main menu - image or adjust for example - the PSP display disappears and the PC locks up. I can Alt+Tab to other open apps but cannot do anything with them as they are also locked. By pressing the Alt+Ctl+Del and selecting the Task Manager option, PSP redisplays and both it and the other apps can then be used. But only for a short period, as the same error occurs when opening another image. Anyone else have this problem?

Corel Support have offered several solutions but none of them resolve the problem.

Have you tried resetting PSP to default by holding the shift key when launching? Be sure to save your workspace to preserve any customization when doing this.

For my program as far as I know the program did not crash and was closed normally.
Then when trying to launch PSP 2021 that the program does not start, not often just the few occasions.
When I press Alt+Ctl+Del and selecting the Task Manager option, PSP 2021 shows on the desktop without having to press any other key.
I cannot replicate this problem. At first simply ignored as being coincidental that is showed after opening Task Manager.

This is a little strange and different to where the program actually hangs in Task Manager where we have to use End Task.
I have to say that the incidents of 2021 hanging in Task Manager for me is non existent, unlike earlier versions of PSP.

What type of images are you working with.

Yes I have Kathy, several times and it makes no difference. It still locks-up as described above. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled 2021 a number of times and it still locks-up.

I have to say that PSP 2021 does not always fail or hang in task manger, not that often and certainly I cannot replicate to order.

The hang I described above has happened but again quite rare, at first I simply ignored as maybe a senior moment.
But no its not me it has happened a few times, again cannot replicate. As nothing has changed I am sure it will occur again at some time.

I am having a similar problem. Mine gives me an error message Could not load 'CMDBASE1' Unable to retrieve command 'eyedropper' and unable to retrieve command 'PAN.'
Program will not load.

UPDATE: After trying the <shift> while loading, splash screen opens and sits there a while. It will eventually open. When I try and close it I get an Application Error "The instruction at 0x00007FF718495979 referenced memory at 0x000000000E085420. The memory could not be read. click on OK to terminate the program.

I tested my memory, which returned no errors...

I too am having a similar issue. When I power up PSP 2021, it comes up ok. But when I switch between the workspace (Complete & Photography), PSP disappears. The Task Manager shows PSPStub.exe running in the background (3 instances), but there is no activity. Touch-Friendly Workspace is also running the background. I already reset PSP 2021 to default using the Shift Key as when I launched it. But I am still experiencing the same issue.
