Hi, I just started working with VideoStudio 2020.
Despite it having a lot of nice features, VideoStudio 2020 it's totally unusable when the following issue cannot be solved.
Issue: When I have several clips on the video track and I remove one clip, all clips behind are shifted to the left automatically, leaving no gaps.
This also happens when I move a clip to an overlay track.
How can I DISABLE automatic clip shifting to the left on the video track?
The same goes for the overlay tracks, but then the exact opposite.
On an overlay track the clips won't shift to the left when removing a clip from the track.
How can I ENABLE automatic clip shifting to the left overlay tracks?
How to enable/disable clip shifting on video and overlay tracks?

Re: How to enable/disable clip shifting on video and overlay tracks?
Hi Mike
Video Studios top video track always moves clips to the left to close any gaps, this is the way the program has been designed and certainly for as long as I can remember going back 20 years.
Once you get used to the process it does work very well
Corel did introduce gap editing for 2019 which caused so many issues, and indeed is still problematic.
When you want to move a clip from the top track to the overlay track do you wish to have a gap or are you gonna fill that with another clip? The gap closes, drag any other clip to the same position on the timeline and it will be inserted.
To move a clip from the top track, you could right click for copy, then drop on the overlay track.
If you wish the original position to be a gap / black simply replace the clip with a black Solid Colour or a black Jpeg.
Dragging a colour clip/image to the timeline, hold Ctrl to drop over a clip -- will replace the clip
Overlay tracks
As I mentioned Gap editing was introduced with 2019 for the top track, Overlay tracks have always allowed us to place clips anywhere,
If you right click a gap there is an option to Close Gaps, will affect the selected track
Note-: If you have ripple editing enabled and using gaps the process does not work too well.
