How to make exactly 1 pixel a tiny bit brighter/more white?

Post by pstein »

Assume I have a picture with some dust or a very small smear spot on the clothes.

I want to repair this. Therefore I don't want to use general purpose full picture correction tools or function but modify a very small portion (few pixels) of the picture.

Therefore I load the picture into PSP X2 and zoom it until I can see single pixels.

What I need now is a way to modify a single pixel and make exactly this pixel a tiny little bit more brighter/lighter (more white).
The underlying color pixels should be kept in general. The color of adjacent pixels should/could be considered during modification.
If necessary I want to repeat this modification a couple of times.

I guess simply putting an white partially opaque white pixel onto the existing one is not the right way.

Any other suggestions?

Here four different ways to do it:

1) You may use the Makeover tool/ Blemish Fixer:

2) You may Clone an adjacent pixel on the destination pixel:

3) You may use the Paint Brush set to 1-pixel size and paint a darker/whiter pixel.

4) You may select the pixel with the Selection Tool and use the Histogram Adjustment Tool (Ctrl+Shift+H): modify the Luminance with the Gamma Slider.
