Another weird video formatting issue. Help!

Okay, so I have another brain teaser. I was given a Fishing Camera to do a product review of. The camera records to the AVI format. The camera has its own built in 7" 4:3 aspect ratio screen. When viewing fish underwater with the camera or reviewing recorded videos on this screen, everything looks fine and proportional to real life. The problem occurs when copying the video files my PC for viewing or edting. The files have a very weird format, that is incompatible with most players. The file shows a format of 720 x 288. When viewed on my computer the video is very wide and stretches the image. This results is fish looking distorted, like they are long and thin.

Now in VCL player. I can change the aspect ratio when viewing the videos and they will look normal, but when rendering them in VS, I can find no way to change the aspect ratio of the video to 4:3. Can some help me with this?
