PaintShop Pro 2021 - Creative Pack - Photo Frames

Post by Lutzi54 »

Hi,
I've been annoyed with the new PSP 2021 and the included Creative Pack for a few days. The Creative pack is installed, but i miss e.g. the picture frames. In the 2020 version including the Creative Pack, I had 150 picture frames. In the new version there are only 10. And the Cr.Pack folders are all empty.
Corel support was unable to help me. Does anyone know where the frames are or what is wrong there?
Greetings Lutz

Thanks for the tip. The thread shows my problem, but no solution. According to table I should have 147 frames from the creative pack, but I only have base 10.
The path mentioned refers to brushes : I have 100 of them: so neither the basis 70 nor the creative pack 125 ... I don't know what should apply to the creative pack 2021.
I've looked through all the subfolders but I can't find anything about frames.
If I want to reinstall Creative Pack, it says: is already installed. But there are no frames ...

Check your file locations. File - Preferences - File Locations

This is what I have. The last location is for my personal folder of picture frames.

In fact I have just downloaded and installed the Creative Content from the store page. When I look in the C:\Users\[Your Name]\Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro\2021\Picture Frames where I thought the new frames would go, that folder was empty, as was the 'Purchased' folder.

However, when I looked in the Learning Centre down the far right hand side of screen in Edit, I could see in the list "Text and Graphics" -- see next image...
PSP Frames 01.jpg
When I click on that and look down the new list, "Add Frames and Photo Edges". I click on that and get the next image.
PSP Frames 02.jpg
When I left click on that dialogue box, up come all the frames... lots of them, though I haven't counted them as yet.

First: The first 3 pathes of file locations / frames are empty and the 4. path contains only the 10 basic-frames.
Second: All the "text and graphic" entries in learning center are grey and could not selected - with exeption "cutting out texts and shapes".
Your screenshot shows exactly what i search desperate and what is in version 2020 no problem - but in 2021...

Hi Lutzi54
I was not sure where to find the frames within the program – a little confused -- but found them from the menu Images – Picture Frames
I had expected to find them from the tools bar? – my inexperience….

All my frames I think 146 are here:-
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2021\Corel_09
5 separate folders
As I say I do find them from the program via Images – Picture Frames

Without installing any extra packs I only have 9, I think? ( details from 2020)

Correction to "second":
Sorry: My mistake: I didn't load a picture ...
Now I can choose the points, but there are also only the 10 standard frames ...

Success message: I had an idea and solved the problem! I copied the folder ProgramData / Corel / Corel Paintshop Pro 2020 (!) To 2021. Now all the folders are there.
But the question remains why that didn't work. I suspect (it could be) that the installation routine of CreativePack 2021 has installed itself in the 2020 directory. So a bug. I've always done it this way - since the very first PSP version of Jasc 1992: I always have two versions of PSP running first: the new and the previous version. Until I see that everything works.
I thank everyone for the help. And shameful that the corel support could not solve the problem ... Greetings Lutz

Just to follow up on your comment re 2020………….
I re-installed the contents pack for 2021, that did installed correctly to 2021.

I find the download and installation process a little confusing....
When I first select the contents pack it shows a new panel indicating “Install”
Selecting that does not actually install but downloads ( green bar top right) the Creative Contents to our %temp% folder

Once downloaded the installation process should auto run via the install shield wizard, do you see that option.
At this point I explore the %Temp% folder for the Corel_CreativeContent.exe file, then save / copy to a safe location along with my program installation files.
Double clicking that file should start the installation again, If the contents pack is installed then we get an option to repair or uninstall.
For me the install to 2021 works ok.

Sorry, but with my CreativePack there was no way to choose the path. The pack was included in the ultimate download. And no corresponding pack was offered in the welcome screen.
Anyway, I've now fixed the problem "on foot".

PSP X8 to 2020 reduced frames, tubes

Post by gingerbread »

I bought 2020 "Ultimate" a few months ago in a bundle with 3 other programs (which I don't want) and compared to earlier versions there seem to be fewer tubes and especially frames included. I don't know if in my previous versions there were more included in the base download or if I downloaded creative packs or add-ons (I've never paid for anything additional or used third-party/free, so it would've been a free Corel download).

I have 7 versions of PSP in my account going back 15 years and I can't see anywhere to download included add-ons (if there were any) such as creative packs etc. Was anything additional included for 2020? How can I access the creative pack?

Re: PaintShop Pro 2021 - Creative Pack - Photo Frames

I'm new to this forum and to PaintShop Pro. I purchased the Ultimate package last month and have issues regarding file locations and access to Creative Pack elements, including picture frames. I found them all in sub folders under a master folder, Corel_09. My problem was that, even though the proper path is listed in the folders list, and "Use sub folders" is selected, none of the 100+ frames are shown. If fact, there is no drop down list and I immediately see the fuzzy oval frame (Corel_09_001). However, when I explicitly added the sub folders with frames under Corel_09 (_01, _02, etc.) they all come up and were select-able on the drop down list. I further investigated whether the Corel_09 folder worked at all and copied a few frames into it while removing the sub folder locations from the File Preferences locations list. The frames in the Corel_09 folder showed up, but still no sub folders.

I thought I at least had a work-around until I started working on my photos and nothing was showing up again except the fuzzy oval. So now I'm really confused. Every time now that I want to use another frame I only get the fuzzy oval and no drop down list! I know this may multiple issues, but has anyone had this experience or found a solution? It's looking like a bug or installation issue (or both) to me now.
