It appears that I have neglected to buy the 2yr download insurance and the download link does not work any more.
1. Have I lost out or is there a way to reactivate the links to install these purchases?
2. Are the New Blue specials fron 11/30/2019 compatible with VSP2020? --They apparently still have 2yr DL capability?
3. Is the VSP2019 Multicam option usable in VSP2020?

Which one are you trying to download / install.???

Try this link to download the stub, for 2019 it should allow you to download the program again.
You should be able to download even if 2019 is installed

From the final stub page deselect Do not download Installed modules again
Then Choose a download location, a new empty folder.
I then Download Only to install later.



The MCC although is installed with the program is more like a stand alone add-on software
Can be run through the program, via a desktop icon or your start menu as MultiCam Capture Lite

Did you follow the link on the previous post to download the program.
I assume you still have your programs serial numbers.

Do you have 2020 installed, if yes then you will have to uninstall to download again.

My user profile shows a different (similar) computer which I want to install the VSP U2020 upon.
It is clean and virtually unused, with only 2 programs other than W10, installation.
(I own ---> UX10, U2018, U2019, and U2020 serials. I buy them when they become available on sale at 80%-90% off.) I want to use U2020 now.
2018 & 2019 seemed sketchy and unreliable, and they came & went, before I wanted to do any new video editing projects.
VSP 2020 & U2020 is on SP4 now, maybe they will fix it mostly before 2021 is released and previous version support disappears?


I would like to install VSP U2020 -- 1 time -- without installing & uninstalling many lower versions.
(just because I have access to VSP U2019, doesn't mean I want to use U2019. I want to go directly to ----->U2020)
I paid for 2020, I just forgot to get the 2yr download insurance.

1. How can I get U2020? I paid for it, I just never downloaded it. Do I have to buy it again?
2. Will the "NEW Blue" special resources for 2019 transfer to U2020?
3. Will the 2019 Multicam package work for U2020?

If you purchased 2020 and never downloaded the program and the download link has timed out, then you should contact Corel Support to explain your situation
The link I provided to download Video Studio included 2020, 2019, 2018 and X10
Did you try selecting the link for 2020 that will provide you with the stub aka Web Installer, that should allow you to download the program
Of course you will need your serial number provided with your purchase order, I assume you do have a serial number?

As for any confusion regarding versions, the advice given will be appropriate for all versions, although 2020 has some changes.

You will have to provide a serial number and registration details, use the same e-mail that was used when you installed previous versions

After applying about 10 windows updates, I was successful with installing the ULTIMATE 2020 SP4 v 23.3.0.646, without any apparent errors.
You were correct about my SN selecting the ULTIMATE option package.
I wonder why the sales process generates a download link that expires when you can just select to download off of the main website?
I also wonder why there is a DOWNLOAD INSURANCE FEE?

A NEW FOLDER was created on the Desktop, with about 8 gigs of other files & folders.
After scrolling through those files & folders, I'm sure these are the downloaded install files, I'm just not sure which "SETUP" file launches which portion of the installation,
and in which order to execute them when the time is necessary to reinstall the program again.
Do you know anything about those details?

When all your installation files are safely stored in a folder on your computer, preferably, copy that folder to a USB, so that you have a backup

Next time you need to reinstall VS2020, open the folder, locate VideoStudio2020_Installer.exe, double click and the program will commence reinstalling, it will automatically check for any updates

Searching for many names including ....
1. *VisualStudio*.*
2. *Installer*.*
Did not reveal the file you said I should find.

I suspect that "contents64.msi" may contain the main "SETUP", but again I'm not sure of the sequence of operations. Maybe there is a config file that sequences the operations?

Good to hear you have managed to install the program

As for the installation files having a setup file this is part of the automatic installation and should not be used as a manual install
Doing a manual setup install may compromise the activation for that product
Having said that if you wish to re-install the Bonus Features then that can be done by installing the full package again by using the setup_Bonus.exe file
If you try to install the individual plugins then as I say you may encounter activation issues where using the plugin may be a trial version.
You cannot manually install the program from \64bit\Ultimate as that will give an error prompting you to run the stub.

I don’t understand Corel’s policy regarding download insurance, never need to use that, I always save the files to a safe place.
Corel have changed the service pack policy which now works automatically through the program, If that fails then the only option is to re-install.
Then they combine older service packs with the program so any new purchases don’t need the SP’s, but do need access to download.

The download link I gave you was via the Video Studio Update Page – trouble shooting, so available for all to use.

You could also download the Trial version, that first provides the Web Installer (stub), we then use the serial number to install the full version rather than the trial.
A new Stub will also be provided to the download folder

During Covid times many businesses are closing. I am just trying to be self-sufficient in my ability to reinstall if Corel goes belly-up.

Other posters to this list have commented to the lack of concern given by Corel to their problems.
I see this as "Cutting Back" in an inappropriate way similar to a company on the edge of failure.
.
Even if Corel does go "Out-Of-Business" the program would still run without them, -->if it could be installed <--
Maybe I should consider an "IMAGE" back-up?

The file known as the Stub or Web Installer would have been provided with our purchase, running the Stub allows us to download and install the program
The Stub may have different names, that’s Corel just confusing us
If you try to download the Trial you will be provided with a stub

I have several all the same version identified by the size of 6.977Kb

VideoStudio2020_Installer.exe
VideoStudio_Install.exe
Corel_VideoStudio_2020_crl.exe – this is the trial – same size 6.977kb

I may be wrong, but the "STUB-Installer" makes a call via internet to the Corel home world to send a MEGA large DL to the computer requesting it.

I was hoping for a stand-alone solution not requiring any additional communication with a closed up, non-existent, Corel Server.
.
Maybe that is not possible?

B U T....Why save these files at all if they won't run "Stand-Alone"?
Is the retail DVD -- Stand-Alone Functional?

Without saving the files any re-install would require a full download, having the files the process first checks those files to download any changes / additions then installs
That really means we cannot install an older version.

As I mentioned the main basic program has to use an internet connection and only installed via the stub
All other packs can be installed manually provided we install the full pack and not individual plugins.
I would recommend installing via the stub and not manually.
Anyway the next time I re-install 2020 I will try without internet, I’m sure it will fail as it has to check for updates and proof of ownership.

I don’t think Corel are providing DVD disc / boxed backup, besides the files on disc would soon be out of date and require SP’s downloading / installing + any other changes to the installation files.

Things do change each year, for 2019 we could download the entire program even though the program was installed.
Now with 2020 that is not possible we have to first uninstall; I don’t know if that is by design or an oversight.
