I encountered difficulty burning when I used a DVD-R. I was successful burning when I used a DVD+RW or a CD-R.

Burn Engine Update

Post by jimbgoss »

Got the update from tech support. Tried a small slideshow and it burned and played in my TV DVD player. If anyone wants to try the update just send me a email 'jimbgoss (at) rogers.com'. Change (at) to @

Pictureshow trouble burning DVD-workaround

Post by villipend »

Okay the workaround that I use is to select "Create DVD Folders" and unselect the other boxes. Then I use DVDShrink(freeware program) to created my DVD. A bit akward I admit but at least you can get DVD burned. Haven't heard back from tech support as of yet.

Follow-up: Tech support emailed me back with a link to the patch and the program works great!

DVD Fails to burn

Post by Mary LeCompte »

Forget the $50, I have invested three days in putting together a slideshow for a birthday and it won't burn. After 2 hours of undisturbed rendering the program just shuts down. I contacted tech support and received a coupon. If there is a patch I need it within the next week to make this thing work. Where is the patch?

You have to Email tech support and they'll send you the link. I'm suprised they didn't send it to you to try. You could try the solution I posted previously using DVDShrink. That worked for me as well.

patch helped

Thanks for the link. The patch helped and I was able to burn the dvd - just in time for the birthday too. Tech Support NEVER got back to me either.

Guess what?

I'm having problems also. :(

I've spent an age trying to compile a slideshow of my brother's wedding, accompanied by music, which I would like to give as a Christmas present.

I have inserted a DVD+R into my drive (it's recognised OK by Windows) but when I come to burn, I am just told "There is no disc in device" - but there is! Can someone please give me an idea on how to sort this? Time is running out for me. Thanks.

Aaron

PS - Why is Ulead not responding to the many issues re: burning raised here?

DVD Pictureshow burn problem-one solution

Post by sm »

I tried using an old version of lxdvdparser.dll file from

http://ftp.ulead.com/pub/Updates/burn_n ... 1_pack.exe

and it solved my burning problem. I kept receiving an error involving lxdvdparser.dll that said "The instruction at ##### referenced memory at #####." The old version of lxdvdparser.dll that works for me is version 1.1.18.111, the one that comes with the DVD Pictureshow is 1.1.18.109.

As seen in other posts, first change the name of the lxdvdparser.dll found in the "program files/common files/ulead systems/dvd/" folder to lxdvdparser.dll.old then run the update program from the link above.

Ulead is a failing company. There approach to tech support is a scramble and then a "new version."

I've been slowly converting my Ulead software over to better supported applications. I used to recommend them and was a beta tester for a while, but that's in the past. :x

Do you aware that a update pack for DVDPS 4 is been released recently? Check http://www.ulead.com/tech/dps/dps.htm for more information.

Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem. I purchase this download last week and it gets to 71% in the burn process and says it has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have tried saving it to a folder and burning it using Nero and that doesn't work either. Does anybody know of any other programs that I can use to make dvd slideshows?
