VS2020 - no picture, only sound.

Post by JWolters »

Hi there.
In my forum a user has the following problem (quote):
I bought the VideoStudio 2020 and now have the following problem.
With the GoPro (?) I made a few films in 1920 x 1080 and wanted to watch or cut them in VidoStudo 2020. I can load the films into the program, but I cannot view them (because they are black or green) and I cannot edit them either. Other films that I made with the previous program VideoStudio 2018 no longer work either (only have the music that I stored).
VLC shows everything correctly.
Do you have any knowledge or experiences?
Thanks for any answer.

Hi Hansi,

What video card does your user have, on the Vegas Movie Studio forum, a similar issue with GoPro was caused by an Intel HD Graphics 630 card and was rectified by updating the driver.

Thanks Robert.
The girl has a Gigabyte 5500XT card and drivers up to date. It was first suggested to her a VS installation in repair mode, and/ or re-install the directX-9 package.

The graphics card is still a possible culprit, can she try not using the Radeon card but select integrated graphics instead

Ken may be able to offer some advice, as he has a GoPro

Thanks Robert.

But she has a R5 3600 and that CPU without an integrated GPU :( . @TonyP has the AMD Ryzen and also VS2020. Maybe he has had some "negative" experience (?). Tony, say something!

I can't help either. I have a GoPro, yes, but it is ancient now as these things go. Still fine for what I want. But I have read that the most recent GoPro has caused these sorts of problem for some users...
