Library panel question

Post by chrishargrave »

Hi All
I am using VS2019 ultimate. When I put a clip into the timeline and then select it by clicking on it the fx panel opens up in the library panel. I am fairly sure this did not happen by default in the past! Or am I suffering from yet another senior moment?
Thanks in advance.

Is that a single click or double click?
I use X10 and I have to double click the clip on time line to open the Attributes/Edit panels.

or are you clicking on a clip which is already selected (has yellow lines around it) in which case you are effectively double clicking - thus opening the library

Not actually clicking - just dragging a clip from 'media' to the timeline which then has yellow lines round it. Library panel changes from 'media' to 'fx'

Hi Chris
Tried with several different types of clips and my library remains as Media, I cannot replicate this.
Are you dropping on the top or overlay track, and does that matter
A little annoying when you wish to add another clip.

Which clips are you using, does it only change with one type of clip?

If you use the library Samples does it also change to FX

I think you will just have to live with this, of course you can try resetting the Library or resetting the program but seems a lot of work.

Hi Trevor
Only on the main track - both video and still pics. Overlay tracks behave normally.
As you say I will live with it for the time being.
Hope you are all OK - we are still in lockdown in Kirklees - (I think!)
