I decided to give a try to Paintshop 2021. I managed to download the installer, but when I try to install the program, the window which is shown while the installation is supposedly being done, says that it is downloading (“descargando” as it is in Spanish), but it doesn’t. It permanently stays in 0% completed and the downloading and installation does not occur. I have been trying to install the program since yesterday several times, with no luck.
I had no problem to install the Aftershot trial though (I have and old version of it, but wanted to see if it would be worth going for PainShop Ultimate update as it includes the last version of Aftershot).
Has anybody experienced the same? Is it something regarding my system or is Corel having some problem with their servers (or with the Painthsop program)?
I’m not being able to install Paintshop’s trial

Re: I’m not being able to install Paintshop’s trial
I finally managed to install the program, but what happened to me is strange. Or at least I think it is and shouldn’t have happened.
I not only tried several times to install the program and could not, and kept doing so even several times after I initiated this thread, bust just in case, I re-downloaded (before and after) several times the installer to try to see if I was facing some problem with the download of the installer itself. I was doing so (downloading the installer) always from the .com Corel web site.
Then I thought I could try to download the installer from the .com/es/ Corel web site and, this time, with the installer downloaded form there (which has the same name file as the ones previously downloaded from the other web site, but which says while being installed that it is psp2021-es or something like that, but with the “-es” added), I could install the program at my first try with no problem nor delay.
Very strange. I am still trying to speculate why would this be. Maybe some different policy with adds and/or popups that might or not be included within the program itself or within the installer for non English speaking customers (countries)? I don’t really think so and hope not, but what I said I had experienced, it certainly did happen to me.

Thank you for sharing this information Alejandro!
I think it could save non-English users some frustration!

The "es" in the link you had the successful download stands for "Spain" or "Spanish". However, I would have thought that the download from the .com site itself would contain an option when the install starts to select the lanquage of choice - i.e., I thought the one download contained all language versions. That is obviously not the case. Does the Corel site have a link specifically for downloading International versions? If not, perhaps they should.

When you go to the Corel site, you can choose your language.
Quite often the Corel site recognises the country you come from anyway.
You make the purchase or download the trial and based on your system language and previous versions, Corel automatically installs in the correct language with the option of choosing additional ones.

Re: I’m not being able to install Paintshop’s trial
JoeB,
If I google Corel, the first thing that is shown is the address to Corel.com. If I click there, it takes me to Corel.com/la/ and the web site is in Spanish. If from there I go to the Products drop down menu and then click “Edición de Imágenes” > “Paintshop Pro 2021 Ultimate” it takes me to paintshoppro.com/es/ web site which is in Spanish.
But that is not what a I did at first. I tipped in google paintshoppro.com and the first address that then appears in google (for me) is paintshoppro.com which would take me directly to the paintshoppro.com/en/products..... etc.. (in English), and from there is that I downloaded the installer at first (several times as I said).
When the installation finally worked is when I did as I describe in the first paragraph.
The strange thing is that it did not allow me to install the program if using the version of the installer which can be downloaded form the Web site in English (because I live in a country where Spanish is spoken I ought to suppose). And even more strange, because the program (the Spanish version) does allow me to switch form Spanish to English (through “Preferencias” > “Cambiar Idioma”). Just those two languages, Spanish or English (not British, but form the United Sates, as stated).
Zantara,
Might often be as you say, but that is not what happened to me this time.
