My computer froze up during the initial install, so I restarted before it finished. When I try to remove the app I get a message that tells me to close all programs, check internet connection, and empty temporary folder - then to run the setup again. But after I do all of that and I try to run the setup again, I get an error message that it has detected a version on my system and to uninstall and try again.
Registry problem? Any way around this? I'd like to reinstall if possible. I received the product with the purchase of my Pioneer DVD Burner.

HELP!!!! I am having the same exact problem AJ. Any response to your inquiry? I too bought the Pioneer DVD burner and it came with the Ulead software. My computer didn't freeze upon installation, the installation just stopped while it said it was installing something called Windows Media 9 Series, I think. The green progress bar on the little install window was all the way full, but it wasn't doing anything for a long time(maybe 10 minutes) and just had a mouse hourglass over the window the whole time. The disc wasn't doing anything in my drive, so I clicked Cancel on the install window. Then I waited forever on another mouse hourglass for that. When it seemed nothing was happening, I CTRL-ALT-DEL'ed and ended the program task(which it said was not responding).
I was able to uninstall all components(VideoStudio, Photo Explorer, Nova Backup, etc.), but when I go to uninstall the DVD MovieFactory, I get the same message as you. Beneath all the business about closing programs and checking internet connections, there is Error Code: -5001. And when I try to re-install it with the disc, it likewise says to uninstall the earlier version first. Endless cycle.
There is a Browse Disc link on the menu of the install CD that lets you navigate the contents of the disc. Is there any place there that I can uninstall MovieFactory??? I searched the whole thing and didn't see anything that said "Uninstall", but I don't know what 99% of those files do anyway. PLEASE HELP! Thanks!!!!
