I'm using paint shop Pro 2018. If I remember correctly, when I had several images open, they would appear as thumbnails either below the tool options bar or in a line along the bottom of the workspace.I no longer see them. Am I misremembering this or is it a genuine problem?

Re: Image thumbnails not appearing on Workspace.
Go to View>Palettes and see if the Organizer option is checked. It is the Organizer palette that you seem to be describing.

Hello JIm,
which Workspace are you using? I am always using the Complete workspace and I don't recall ever having thumbnails of the open images.
The closest thing I can think of, is when the Windows->Tabbed Documents setting is disabled, and I minimize some or all open images.
Their minimized windows show at the bottom of the screen, like so: http://prntscr.com/tyawk8

I think Jim talks about thumbnails of images already opened inside PSP. AFAIK the organizer (which btw I never use) is just a file-explorer alternative, right?

Re: Image thumbnails not appearing on Workspace.
PSP never displays open images as thumbnails, if I am correct. The only way to display them all is to use the Window/Tile Vertically option.migf1 wrote:I think Jim talks about thumbnails of images already opened inside PSP. You are right about the Organizer is a sort of Windows Files Explorer which doesn't show the open images as thumbnails.

The images you have open in your workspace will only appear as thumbnails in the Organiser strip at the bottom if you have navigated to that folder that you have opened the files from.
At the left of the Organiser toolbar you will find an icon of two folders. Click that and it opens up the Navigation palette. Switch it from Collections to Computer and then select the folder containing the images you want to work with . Click that folder and the thumbs will appear across the bottom. Once you have done that you can close the Navigation Palette to give you more room.
Now double click any of thethumb images or drag them onto the workspace and you will then have your working images in the workspace and their thumbs along the bottom which is what you requesteed. If you want only a selection of images from different folders then you can:
1. Move or copy those manually in Windows Explorer to a common folder (call it Working or Test) and perhaps even place on desktop to make it easier to find. Then direct the navigation of the Organiser to that folder.
OR
2. You can switch to Collections in the Navigation , use More Options (second from left ) to create and name a new tray. On the far right click the down arrow and make sure Tray is ticked to show your tray(s) .
You can then navigate to different folders and drag different thumbs into your tray - it does not move the image but provides a shortcut to that image such that you can have there, many different images in your tray from different folders.
Experiment and find out what you can do.
Both of these will provide you with thumbs below and images on the workspace . I prefer the 1 st method rather than fiddling with trays.
