Tech Support: VS9 Crashes when saving audio & video

In VS9, I can save video perfectly. However, whenever I add any sound file to the music track, it crashes whenever I try to save the video. If anybody can give me some assistance I would appreciate it.

What is the format of the audio file you are trying to add? Some people here have had difficulties when they try to add MP3 audio files. Even though Video Studio is supposed to accept MP3, there are quite a few MP3 codecs out there and some of them appear not to work with VS. Our usual suggestion is to either record your audio in WAV format, or convert your file to WAV. See if that works.

I view this as a small bug as I am using exactly the same files that I used when I had version 8 but they dont work and cause crashes in V9 !
I guess a work around as suggested is all we can do
I have ask tech support and await their answer
